Super glue is very fast and very strong sticking. Super glue on the skin will be difficult to remove. Various household items, such as nail polish remover and salt, can be used to remove superglue from the skin. If superglue sticks to sensitive areas, such as lips or eyelids, consult a doctor before removing it yourself. Removing superglue from this area yourself can be dangerous. Other times, be careful when using superglue. It is best to avoid the glue from sticking to the skin.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Using Nail Polish Remover
Step 1. Choose the right nail polish remover
Acetone is the substance in nail polish remover that helps dry the superglue so that it can be removed. You'll need an acetone nail polish remover for this method to successfully remove superglue.
- Check the label for nail polish remover ingredients. Acetone should be listed here, usually at the top of the list.
- If your nail polish remover doesn't contain acetone, you can try another method. You can also go to a drugstore or convenience store and choose an acetone nail polish remover.
Step 2. Wash and dry your hands
Use clean running water and mild soap. If your hands are stuck together or your fingers are stuck together, you need to ask a friend or family member for help.
- Make sure to dry your hands after washing.
- When drying your hands, use a tissue instead of a towel. You don't want your nail polish remover to accidentally stick to a towel you're still using.
Step 3. Apply nail polish remover to the glue-affected skin
There are no fixed rules about how to apply nail polish remover. You can apply nail polish remover to a cotton ball, cotton swab, or tissue and rub it over the glue-affected area.
- Nail polish remover can scrape off table polish and furniture. If you remove superglue on the table, apply a protective mat to the area. It is best to do it over the sink.
- Do not use this method to remove superglue from your eyelids or lips. You don't want the nail polish remover to be swallowed or get into your eyes.
Step 4. Let the part dry
This will take a few minutes. Do not touch the area and do not attempt to dry it yourself with a towel.
Nail polish remover dries in no time, but if you're bored, do something to cheer yourself up. For example, try watching a movie or television show for a few minutes
Step 5. Peel off the super glue once the area dries
When the nail polish remover dries, the superglue turns white and begins to peel off the skin. The glue can now be gently peeled off the area. The glue will peel off easily at this stage.
If the glue is hard to peel off, you can use a nail file to peel the glue off your skin. Be careful when using a nail file, as you don't want the skin layer to be accidentally scratched. Stop if you start to feel sick
Method 2 of 3: Trying Kitchen and Bathroom Materials
Step 1. Make a salt paste
Mix two tablespoons of salt with water. Stir the mixture into a thick paste. Then rub the paste on the affected area of the skin.
- Once the skin is covered with the salt paste, rinse it off.
- The super glue will peel off at this point.
- Since salt can irritate your eyes, you shouldn't use this method to remove superglue from your eyelids.
Step 2. Try butter or margarine
Butter or margarine can loosen the glue, making it easy to peel off. All you have to do is rub a little butter or margarine on the glue-affected area. Keep rubbing until the glue starts to loosen and peel off slowly.
Butter or margarine can both be used. In this way, no material is better than the other
Step 3. Use laundry soap
Mix a little laundry soap with hot water. Soak the skin in the mixture for a few minutes. Then rub the skin gently. The super glue will peel off.
Usually if the laundry soap has been dissolved it will not irritate the skin. But if you have sensitive skin, you need to try another way
Step 4. Use petroleum jelly
This material can also loosen the glue. If you don't have petroleum jelly in your cupboard, it can be purchased at most drugstores. Wash your hands first and apply petroleum jelly to the skin.
- Take a nail file. Gently rub the glue with a nail file. Super glue will peel off easily.
- Add petroleum jelly if the glue doesn't peel off.
Method 3 of 3: Remove Super Glue on Sensitive Skin
Step 1. Call your doctor if the super glue sticks to your lips or eyelids
Super glue that gets into the eyes or super glue that is inhaled, can be dangerous. If superglue sticks to your eyelids or lips, it's best to contact your doctor for a checkup before trying to remove it yourself.
- If your eyes stick together or your lips stick together, you need to get someone to take you to a doctor's office.
- Do not panic. Although superglue on sensitive parts of the body can be annoying and sometimes painful, doctors can usually fix this.
Step 2. Use a gauze pad to remove the super glue on the eyelids
You can't force your eyes to open. Instead, rinse the area with warm water. Then put the gauze pads on the eyes and glue them with tape.
- Within 1-4 days, the glue will dissolve on its own. At this point, you can remove the gauze pad and open your eyes.
- Remember, consult a doctor before doing this method.
Step 3. Peel off the super glue by bending the lips
This is a simple, yet effective way to remove glue from lips. Bend your lips and try to peel off the glue. With repeated scrubbing and peeling, the glue may peel off.
- If the glue doesn't peel off, try pouring warm water on your lips. This will soften the glue.
- Do not let the super glue be swallowed in this process.
- If this doesn't work, don't force your lips to open. Instead, call a doctor.
Step 4. Do not force the skin to separate from each other
Super glue is very strong and can tear and damage the skin. If the skin is sticking together because of the super glue, call a doctor. The skin can be damaged if you try to remove it yourself.
