This wikiHow teaches you how to block access to certain websites in Firefox. You can block access in several ways on your computer. Meanwhile, iPhone users can use the built-in Restriction feature on the device and Android device users can use a free application called "BlockSite".

Method 1 of 4: Using BlockSite on a Desktop Browser
Step 1. Open Firefox
Click or double-click the Firefox browser icon, which looks like an orange fox on top of a blue globe.
Step 2. Go to the Block Site add-on page
This add-on allows you to block websites and prevent blocked sites from being removed via a password lock.
Step 3. Click + Add to Firefox
It's a blue button in the middle of the page.

If you want a blocked site to redirect users to a specific page (eg Google), click the " Redirect to " text field and type in the address of the desired website.
If you skip this step, Block Site will only redirect users who want to access the blocked site to a page with the text " Restricted Access"
Step 11. Add the website to the block list
Scroll to the "Block a new hostname" text field at the bottom of the page, click the field, and type in the web address you want to block.
For example, if you want to block Twitter, type www.twitter.com into this text field

Method 2 of 4: Using the Hosts File on a Desktop Computer
Step 1. Open the "hosts" file
You can open it on a Windows computer or a Mac computer, but you will need to use administrator rights to access the hosts file.
If you are using a computer with limited rights (or a nonadministrator account), you cannot use the hosts file to block Firefox browsing
Step 2. Place the cursor at the bottom of the page

Type 127.0.0.1 at the bottom of the hosts file.
Step 4. Press the Tab key

Step 1. Open iPhone settings menu

Step 1. Install BlockSite
