If you don't have a PayPal account, or don't want to use one, buying things on eBay can be a headache. However, fortunately there is a way of payment other than using Paypal. You can use a credit card, debit card, or gift card to pay for things quickly. Once done, confirm your purchase and check out.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Paying by Credit or Debit Card
Step 1. Click "Buy it now"
Choose the product as usual. Then, click the "Buy It Now" icon. You will be directed to a screen asking you to enter payment information.
Step 2. Register an account (if necessary)
If you haven't registered on eBay yet, you can quickly register an account by clicking "register now". Enter basic information, such as name, address, and phone number. If you choose not to register, you can also click "continue as guest".
Step 3. Select the debit/credit card payment option
After selecting the item, you will be presented with various payment options. Instead of selecting PayPal, click the debit or credit card payment option.
Step 4. Enter your information
Then you will be directed to a screen where you can enter your debit or credit card number. You'll also need to enter your billing address, name, expiration date, and card security code.
If the billing and shipping addresses are different, make sure they are correct so that your item is not misdelivered
Step 5. Complete the purchase
After entering the information, you will be asked to review the order. Make sure all the information entered is correct and then verify that you want to complete the purchase. Your order will be charged to your credit/debit card.
Method 2 of 3: Paying with a Gift Card or Coupon
Step 1. Click "Pay Now"
Select the desired item as usual. Then, click the "Pay Now" or "Buy Now" icon. If you've won an item in an auction, you'll also need to press "Pay Now" or "Buy Now" after getting the item.
Step 2. Click the "Redeem a Gift Card, certificate, or coupon" button
Instead of selecting a button that requires you to choose between a debit/credit card or PayPal, select a button that allows you to redeem a gift card, certificate, or coupon. You will be directed to a page where you can enter your code.
Step 3. Enter the code
Gift cards, certificates, and coupons all contain codes that you must enter on the eBay site. The code will be emailed or physically printed on the back of the card. Enter this code carefully in the box provided, then press "redeem".
Step 4. Go ahead and log in to your account
Click the "apply" button then the "continue" button. If you are not logged in, you will be asked to sign in to your account.
You can also choose to book as a guest if you don't have an account. You can enter your shipping address when ordering as a guest
Step 5. Complete the purchase
Review your information to make sure your shipping address, name, phone number, and other information are correct. Then, click the "Confirm payment" button to complete the order.
Method 3 of 3: Troubleshooting Common Problems
Step 1. Pay as a guest if you've ever used PayPal
The eBay site sometimes sets Paypal as the default payment if you've ever used it on eBay. Sometimes it's easier to pay as a guest and then enter your card information.
Step 2. Try clearing your browser history
Occasionally, the eBay site will still redirect you to a screen where you pay with PayPal even if you choose not to use it. If you experience this problem, try clearing your browser history and cookies. This will solve the problem.
Step 3. Do not link PayPal and eBay accounts
If you don't want to use a Paypal account for eBay, don't link your eBay and PayPal accounts in the first place. If your Paypal account is linked to an eBay account, this will sometimes result in PayPal being your default payment option.
