Strawberries and bananas are a classic combination. Instead of processing it into a milkshake (milkshake), which is based on ice cream, you can make a smoothie from these two ingredients. Smoothies made with yogurt or milk and ice are much lighter and healthier than milk shakes. Once you know the basics for making this classic smoothie, you can experiment with different additions and variations of your own, such as a tropical banana strawberry smoothie!

Step
Method 1 of 3: Make Milk-Based Smoothies
Step 1. Prepare the required fruit, then put it in a blender
Wash, remove the crown of the stalk, and cut 150 grams of strawberries. After that, peel the banana and cut it into 3 cm slices. Put both ingredients in a blender.
Step 2. Add 250 ml of milk
If you want a light and healthy smoothie, choose skim milk. For a rich smoothie, use whole milk. If you are a vegetarian, try using coconut milk or almond milk.
Step 3. Add 50 grams of sugar substitute
You can use fewer ingredients, if you don't like your smoothie too sweet. If you don't have a sugar substitute, use white or brown sugar, even if you have to reduce the amount.
If you want a healthier smoothie, you can use 1 tbsp. (20 grams) honey
Step 4. Add 4-6 ice cubes
Since the ingredients are fresh fruits, the texture of the smoothie will be very runny. Ice cubes make it thick.
Step 5. Blend all ingredients until well blended
This takes about 45-60 seconds. Periodically stop the blender and use a rubber spatula to scrape down the unmixed fruit.
Step 6. Taste the smoothie and make adjustments
If the smoothie is too runny, add more ice cubes or strawberries/bananas. If it's too thick, you can add a little milk. Blend the smoothie again each time you finish adding something.
Step 7. Pour the smoothie into a glass and serve
Pour the smoothie into a tall glass evenly. If desired, garnish each glass with a sliced banana or strawberry, and serve immediately.
Method 2 of 3: Making Yogurt-Based Smoothies
Step 1. Prepare the bananas and strawberries, then put them in a blender
Peel one banana, then cut it into 3 cm slices. Wash 300 grams of strawberries, remove the crown of the stalk and slice. Place the bananas and strawberries in a blender.
Step 2. Add 250 grams of nonfat greek yogurt
You can also use plain or fatty yogurt. If you want a sweet taste, use vanilla yogurt.
Step 3. Add 2 tsp. desired sweetener
Honey will taste best, although you can also use agave nectar, maple syrup, or white sugar. However, don't add sweetener if you're using vanilla yogurt.
Step 4. Try adding ice cubes if you want a thick smoothie
Actually this is not necessary because the smoothie you make will have a thick texture. However, if you want a thicker smoothie, add about 140 grams of ice.
Step 5. Run the blender until all the ingredients are well blended
This only takes about 45 seconds. If the ingredients don't mix well, stop the blender, and scrape the unmixed smoothie down with a rubber spatula.
Step 6. Taste the smoothie and adjust the consistency
Taste the smoothie you made. If it's not sweet enough, add a sweetener that you like. If the texture is too thick, you can add a little milk. If it's too runny, just add ice cubes. Make sure to blend the smoothie every time you add something.
Step 7. Serve the smoothie
Pour the smoothie evenly into 2 tall glasses. Insert a straw into each glass, and serve immediately. If you want a smoothie that looks fancy, stick a strawberry or banana slice on the top rim of the glass.
Method 3 of 3: Trying Other Recipes
Step 1. Replace milk, yogurt and ice with frozen bananas for a vegetarian smoothie
First, puree the strawberries in a blender before you add the bananas. Puree all ingredients and taste. If you want, you can add something sweet, then puree all the ingredients one last time. Divide the smoothie into 2 cups before you serve it.
- Slices of 4 frozen bananas
- 300 grams of sliced strawberries
- 2 tbsp. (50 grams) agave nectar, date honey, or maple syrup (optional)
Step 2. Use orange juice to give your smoothie a tropical twist
Put all the ingredients below in a blender. For a thick, cold smoothie, use frozen bananas. Run the blender until all the ingredients are smooth, then pour the smoothie into two glasses, and serve immediately.
- Slices of 2 bananas
- 150 grams of sliced strawberries
- 120 ml orange juice
- 170 grams low-fat vanilla yogurt
Step 3. Use orange juice and frozen strawberries for a tropical vegetarian smoothie
Put all the ingredients below in a blender. Run the blender until all the ingredients are smooth. One minute later, stop the blender and scrape the sides of the blender if necessary. Pour your smoothie into a tall glass, and serve immediately.
- 200 grams of frozen strawberry slices
- Slice of 1 banana
- 120 ml orange juice
Step 4. Add oats to get a smoothie that is rich in fiber and texture
Put all the ingredients below in a blender. Run the blender until all the ingredients are smooth. Periodically stop the blender and use a rubber spatula to scrape off any unmixed smoothie ingredients. Pour the smoothie into 2 glasses and serve immediately.
- 240 ml unsweetened almond or skim milk
- 130 grams of greek yogurt without fat
- 300 grams of frozen strawberry slices
- Slices of 1½ medium ripe bananas
- 40 grams of instant oats or regular oats
- 1 tbsp. (20 grams) honey
- tsp. vanilla extract
Step 5. Use yogurt and chia seeds for a high-protein smoothie
Put all the ingredients below in a blender. Run the blender until all the ingredients are smooth. Periodically stop the blender, then scrape the sides with a rubber spatula. Add more honey if desired, then pour the smoothie into a tall glass and serve immediately.
- 250 grams plain yogurt or Greek yogurt
- 120 ml milk
- 220 grams of frozen strawberry slices
- Slice of 1 banana
- 1 tbsp. (10 grams) chia seeds
- 1 tsp. honey
Step 6. Try making a vegetarian chia smoothie
Whisk the chia seeds and almond milk together and place them in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes. Blend the remaining banana and almond milk, then add the strawberries and run the blender again. Add the chia seed mixture and blend until smooth. Pour the mixture into 2 glasses and serve immediately.
- 2 tbsp. (20 grams) chia seeds
- 350 ml almond milk, divided
- Slices of 2 medium sized frozen bananas
- 350 grams of frozen strawberry slices
Step 7. Make a smoothie bowl (smoothies served in a bowl) for a filling meal
Puree the strawberries, frozen bananas, and coconut milk until smooth. Pour the mixture into a bowl, then sprinkle the banana slices and fresh strawberries. Add a handful of freeze-dried bananas and strawberries, and sprinkle with chia seeds. Arrange the contents as pretty as possible, and enjoy!
- 1 frozen banana
- 200 grams of frozen strawberry slices
- 120 ml coconut milk without sugar
Tips
- If you don't have a blender, use a food processor.
- The longer the ingredients are blended, the more foamy your smoothie will get.
- Adjust the amount and proportion as desired.
- Use frozen bananas and strawberries instead of ice cubes if you want a thicker smoothie.
