Step
Method 1 of 5: Strawberry Smoothie
Step 1. Pour the orange juice into the blender
If you like, use orange juice without pulp, or with pulp for a thicker smoothie. The orange juice will give the smoothie a slightly sour taste, which is a perfect contrast to the sweetness of the strawberries.
Step 2. Put the strawberries in a blender
Fresh or frozen strawberries can be used. If using frozen strawberries, the amount of ice needed may not be as much as the recipe says. If using fresh strawberries, be sure to wash the strawberries and remove the crown (green leaf stalk at the top), before putting them in the blender.
Step 3. Add yogurt
The plain yogurt will make the smoothie creamy and enhance, without overpowering, the strawberry flavor. If you like, add ice cream and/or strawberry juice too.
Step 4. Put the ice in the blender
Putting hard ice on top of the strawberries allows the blender blades to spin more effectively without getting caught in the ice. If using frozen strawberries, it may be best to reduce the amount of ice to 70 g. Because they're frozen, strawberries already help cool smoothies.
Blend for 5 seconds, pause, then blend again. Repeat until well mixed. Stir the smoothie with a spoon between blenders to make sure there are no strawberries or ice stuck in it
Step 5. Listen to the blender sound
If you still hear a lot of noise, continue to blend until the sound is smooth. Stir with a spoon at the last minute to make sure the smoothie is completely blended.
If the smoothie is still too solid when it's finished blending, add ice cubes until it reaches the desired consistency
Step 6. Add milk to smoothies
Adding milk after the smoothie has finished blending will prevent the milk from mixing directly with the orange juice, which can cause the milk to clump.
Nonfat milk, 2% milk, can be used, or use whole milk for a creamier smoothie
Step 7. Blend until well blended
If desired, serve in chilled glasses, or pour into cups to enjoy together. Give it a straw, and enjoy!
Method 2 of 5: Blackberry Strawberry Smoothie
Step 1. Pour the orange juice into the blender
If you like, use orange juice without pulp, or with pulp for a thicker smoothie. The orange juice will give the smoothie a slightly sour taste, so it's a perfect contrast to the sweet flavors of strawberries and blackberries.
Step 2. Put the strawberries and blackberries in a blender
Fresh or frozen strawberries and blackberries can be used. If using fresh fruit, be sure to wash it and remove the strawberry crown (green leaf stalk at the top), before putting it in the blender.
Step 3. Put the ice in the blender
Putting hard ice over the strawberries and blackberries allows the blender blades to spin more effectively without getting stuck in the ice.
Step 4. If using frozen fruit, it may be best to reduce the amount of ice to 70 g
Because they're frozen, strawberries and blackberries already help cool smoothies.
- If you like, put the yogurt in a blender (optional). Unsalted yogurt will make the smoothie taste more sour and creamy.
- Blend for 5 seconds, pause, then blend again. Repeat until well mixed. Stir the smoothie with a spoon between blendings to make sure no strawberries, blackberries, or ice are stuck.
Step 5. Listen to the blender sound
If you still hear a lot of noise, continue to blend until the sound is smooth. Stir with a spoon at the last minute to make sure the smoothie is completely blended.
If the smoothie is still too dense when it's finished blending, add ice cubes until it reaches the desired consistency
Step 6. Enjoy smoothies
Pour the smoothie into chilled glasses, or cups to share. Give me a straw.
Method 3 of 5: Honey Strawberry Smoothie
Step 1. Pour 240 ml of plain yogurt (480 ml if you feel very thirsty) into a blender
Yogurt makes smoothies creamier and acts as a base for the strawberry flavor. Lean, low-fat, or plain yogurt can be used.
Step 3. Blend until all ingredients are well blended
Blend for 5 seconds, pause, then blend again. Repeat until well mixed. Stir the smoothie with a spoon between blenders to make sure there are no strawberries or ice stuck in it.
Listen to the sound of the blender. If you still hear a lot of noise, continue to blend until the sound is smooth. Stir with a spoon at the last minute to make sure the smoothie is completely blended
Step 4. Put a sliced banana into the blender (optional)
Fresh or frozen banana slices can be used. Blend until well blended.
Step 5. Add honey to make it sweet
Start by pouring 1 tablespoon of honey, then blend. Taste the smoothie and add more honey if you like it sweeter.
- Do not immediately pour honey in large quantities. Smoothies are very easy to sweeten, and too much honey can spoil the flavor of the smoothie.
- Enjoy smoothies! Serve in chilled tall glasses or cups to share. Give it a straw, and enjoy!
Step 6. Put ice cubes in a serving glass after the smoothie is done, or blend some ice cubes to make a cold smoothie, if you like
Method 4 of 5: Vanilla Strawberry Smoothie
Step 1.
Step 2. Put the milk in the blender
Nonfat milk, 2% milk, can be used, or use whole milk for a creamier smoothie.
Step 3. Put the strawberry or vanilla yogurt in a blender
Strawberry yogurt sharpens the strawberry smoothie flavor. If you like a smoothie with a stronger vanilla flavor, use vanilla-flavored yogurt.
Step 4. Blend until all ingredients are well blended
Blend for 5 seconds, pause, then blend again. Repeat until well mixed. Stir the smoothie with a spoon between blendings to make sure there are no strawberries or ice stuck in.
Step 5. Put vanilla or strawberry ice cream and vanilla extract (1-2 drops) in a blender
Smoothie flavor can be adjusted. If you like a smoothie with a stronger strawberry flavor, use strawberry ice cream. Blend until well blended.
Both types of ice cream, strawberry and vanilla, can be used in equal amounts
Step 6. Pour the orange juice into the blender
If you like, use orange juice without pulp, or with pulp for a thicker smoothie. The orange juice will give the smoothie a slightly sour taste, which is a perfect contrast to the sweetness of the strawberries.
Step 7.
Step 8. Blend until all ingredients are well blended
Blend for 5 seconds, pause, then blend again. Repeat until well mixed. Stir the smoothie with a spoon between blendings to make sure there are no strawberries or ice stuck in.
- Listen to the sound of the blender. If you still hear a lot of noise, continue to blend until the sound is smooth. Stir with a spoon at the last minute to make sure the smoothie is completely blended.
- If the smoothie is still too solid when it's finished blending, add ice cubes until it reaches the desired consistency.
Step 9. Enjoy smoothies
Pour the smoothie into chilled glasses, or cups to share. Give me a straw.
Method 5 of 5: Wild Strawberry Smoothie
Step 1. Pour the apple cider into the blender
Apple cider makes the smoothie taste sweeter. So, sugar is not needed. Apple cider also acts as a base for the strawberry flavor.
Step 2. Put the strawberries and banana slices in a blender
Fresh or frozen strawberries and banana slices can be used. If using fresh strawberries, be sure to wash the strawberries and remove the crown (the green leaf stalk at the top), before putting them in the blender.
Step 3. Put the frozen yogurt in a blender
Spoon the vanilla-flavored frozen yogurt into the blender. You can try plain frozen yogurt, nonfat frozen yogurt, or vanilla soy frozen yogurt.
Step 5. Blend until all ingredients are well blended
Blend for 5 seconds, pause, then blend again. Repeat until well mixed. Stir the smoothie with a spoon between blendings to make sure there are no strawberries, banana chunks, or ice stuck in.
- Listen to the sound of the blender. If you still hear a lot of noise, continue to blend until the sound is smooth. Stir with a spoon at the last minute to make sure the smoothie is completely blended.
- If the smoothie is still too dense when it's finished blending, add ice cubes until it reaches the desired consistency.
Step 6. Enjoy smoothies
Pour the smoothie into chilled glasses, or cups to share. Give me a straw.
Tips
- If you like a creamier smoothie, use more milk or ice cream.
- Ice cream produces a thicker and creamier smoothie.
- If you like your smoothie sweeter, add 1.5 tsp of sugar or honey and blend.
- Bottled juices may taste more bitter than fresh fruit juices.
- Make sure to wash all fresh fruit before use!
- If it's a very hot day, you may want to enjoy the smoothie in a chilled glass. Just keep serving glasses in the freezer while making smoothies. Thus, the glass cools down while you work.
- If you're lactose intolerant or sensitive to dairy, substitute milk and soy or rice yogurt for a delicious smoothie.
- Make sure the smoothie looks luxurious by garnishing the surface of the smoothie with thin slices of strawberries or bananas, blackberries, or mint leaves.
- Top the smoothie with whipped cream to make it more like a dessert.
Warning
- Always close the blender before turning it on and while the blender is spinning.
- Never put a spoon or fork into the blender to stir the smoothie while the blender is still spinning, as they can get caught on the rotating blender blades.
- Never put your hands in the blender, even when it's not spinning. Always use a fork or spoon to remove stuck pieces of fruit or ice.
- Drink the smoothie slowly so that your head doesn't hurt from a sudden cold!
