Smoking tobacco from a hookah is a big change from smoking dry cigarettes. You can get different flavors of shisha to make smoking more enjoyable. If you can't find a place to buy a hookah, you can make one from items you have in your home. Relax, relax and enjoy the following smoking experience.
Step
Part 1 of 3: Assembling the Hookah
Step 1. Fill the vessel with ice cubes and water
Add enough water to allow the stems to sink 1-1/2 (38 mm) in the pot.
- You will need to give the vessel room so the smoke doesn't bubble into the hose.
- Do not put dairy products (dairy) into the bottom. Adding dairy will cause odor, mold, foam in the vessel, and damage the hose.
Step 2. Add your grommets
Grommets are coatings for attaching rods to vessels. Most hookahs come with rubber or plastic coatings. Silicone is the best material for coating, but you can also coat the vessel to the rod with cable adhesive.
Step 3. Place the charcoal tray over the hookah
You'll need to put it down before installing the sideburns because it may not fit the size of the tray.
Step 4. Insert the smallest end of the hose into the hose port
If your hookah has 2 ports, you can use a rubber liner to cover the other port.
Step 5. Prepare your shisha
Follow these steps for the best smoking experience:
- Mix the tobacco thoroughly so that it is completely mixed with the flavoring and molasses.
- Shake the tobacco and drop it into the sideburns. Leave a gap of 2 mm between the top of the tobacco and the whisk so that the shisha does not touch the foil when you insert it. Burnt shisha will give your cigarette a bad taste.
- Buy good quality shisha. The quality of your shisha will determine the taste of your cigarette. You can mix and match the flavors to make them taste good. Buy 50g of shisha so you can try it without spending a fortune.
- You can cut the tobacco leaves with scissors, to make the tobacco easier to insert into the beard. However, don't cut it too small or the tobacco leaves will slip through the hole and clog your beard.
Step 6. Place the solid foil over the sideburns
Your sideburns should be 2 (5 cm) wider on all sides so you can create a tight seal around the sideburns.
- Allow the foil to harden so the wrinkles don't distort heat distribution. If you only have thin foil, use double.
- When finished, the foil-covered sideburns should match the drum heads.
Step 7. Make about 15 to 20 holes in the foil using a toothpick, needle, or sharp-tipped pen
Don't tear the foil. You can do other steps, depending on the type of beard you have:
- Egyptian Sideburns: It starts with a round hole around the perimeter and spirals inside.
- Funnel-shaped sideburns: Make 3 concentric circles: 1 around the edge, 1 around the twist, and 1 in between the 2 circles you've made.
Step 8. Light the charcoal
Hold the charcoal with a tongs and ignite one corner with a match or lighter. Sparks will occur, you better get out or stand by the window.
- Always use the tongs that usually come with the hookah to light or move your charcoal. Avoid using kitchen utensils that may have been coated with a non-stick coating preserving polymer for food preparation and easy washing.
- When the charcoal starts to splatter and produce smoke, keep the fire burning. The charcoal should continue to sprinkle until it turns orange.
- If there are unburned areas on the charcoal, blow on the charcoal to heat it up.
Step 9. The side touched by the clamp will not light up
Blow the section so that it burns orange. Place the charcoal back on the foil until each is coated in ash.
- Don't burn the charcoal directly on the foil. The particles released by the charcoal will enter the beard and change the taste of your tobacco.
- If your place doesn't have a stove, lighter, or lighter, you can use an instant charcoal burner.
- Natural charcoal burns longer than combustibles, but requires something hotter than a match to burn.
Step 10. Blow on the hose to remove any dust or adhering particles
Avoid washing the hose unless you are sure it is washable.
Step 11. Smoking hookah
Let the sideburns burn naturally. Do not pull hard to speed up heating because your tobacco can burn. Start smoking. A good hookah can last anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Part 2 of 3: Making a Hookah Fruit Bowl
Step 1. Find a round shape fruit
Apples, mangoes, or oranges can be an option, but you can use any round fruit you can find.
Step 2. Cut off the top side of the fruit
Leave 3/4 of the fruit intact. Dig up the flesh, leaving 1/2 (13 mm) of flesh attached to the sides.
Step 3. Make a hole in the bottom
You can use a corkscrew, potato peeler, or other sharp object. The hole should be the size of your index finger.
Step 4. Sprinkle the shisha on the fruit bowl
Leave 2 mm of space with the top.
Step 5. Cover the fruit with foil
Make holes in the foil evenly.
Step 6. Place the fruit bowl on the stem
Light the charcoal and burn the hookah. Since fruit is cold, you'll need to use more charcoal than usual for it to burn.
Part 3 of 3: Making Hookahs from Things You Have in Your Home
Step 1. Cut off the top 1/4 of the apple
Dig up the flesh, leaving a 1/2 (13 mm) thick layer on all sides.
Step 2. Make a hole in the bottom of the apple
Use a potato peeler, corkscrew, or paring knife.
Step 3. Cut the garden hose as desired
Attach the apple to the end of the hose and plug the connection with some kind of plasticine.
Step 4. Make a hole near the bottom of the plastic container
You can use a cigarette burner or other solid heat source to drill holes.
Step 5. Insert the straw into the hose
The connection must be tight. If you find a gap between the plastic and the hose, plug the gap with plasticine.
Step 6. Fill the fruit jamb with tobacco
Cover it with foil then make a hole in the foil, light the charcoal, and place the charcoal on top of the foil. Please enjoy your homemade hookah.
Tips
- If the smoke becomes thick and has a bad taste or hurts your throat, simply breathe slowly into the tube. You'll find the smoke coming out of the drain valve or over the sideburns, releasing the ugly smoke that's inside. Do not blow too hard or you will splash water on the charcoal and ruin the shisha.
- If the tobacco is dry, moisten it by adding honey or molasses.
- Try HydroHerbal or tobacco-free shisha. You will inhale fewer carcinogens.
- To clean your hookah, dip a washcloth in vinegar water and insert it into the rod using the underside of a fishing rod or other stick. As for the vessel, wet it with warm water and soap to taste, then dry it until it's really not wet anymore. Clean the stems once a week and the vessels about once a month.
- The smoke from the hookah will be thick and white. A good smoke indicates that you have prepared your hookah correctly and you can smoke as usual.
- Many people believe in what they call a "diffuser". The spreader works like an aerator on a faucet. The spreader is placed on the stem and then submerged so that it will be at a depth of 1/4" (6 mm) from the bottom. The spreader allows the smoke to accumulate more moisture, tastes better, and smokes smoother.
- Some Middle Eastern countries use milk or juice to enhance the flavor and density of the smoke. Standard procedure at Ali Baba's Hookah Bar (founded 1760 in Istanbul) is 1/3 part milk or juice and 2/3 part water. Be sure to wash your hookah if you're using anything milk-based so your hookah doesn't taste like stale milk.
Warning
- Do not use homemade charcoal, which can produce excess carbon monoxide. Use commercial hookah charcoal, either instant or natural, for hookah smoking satisfaction.
- Do not inhale the results of instant charcoal burning. The chemicals in it contain various carcinogens and other unhealthy substances.
- According to the World Health Organization, smoking with hookah provides 200 times more carcinogens than regular cigarettes. Exchanging and sharing hookahs can also spread various diseases such as tuberculosis or hepatitis, so be careful.
