By adding browser games to your website, visitors will spend more time on your site and come back the next day. However, make sure you choose a game from a trusted source that has given permission for people to copy the content the game has to offer.

Method 1 of 2: Embedding the Game into the Site
Step 1. Understand the embedding process
Site-embedded games appear as part of your web page, but are still hosted on the original web site and don't take up your site's bandwidth. If the original website owner removes the game, the game will disappear from your site as well.
The process of embedding content is relatively safe, but malicious content can change the appearance of your website, open pop-up windows, or run unwanted plug-ins. Therefore, only use content from trusted sites or learn how to change the HTML to restrict access
Step 2. Find the game you want to add to the website
Some gaming websites display HTML code that can be used to embed the game. You can easily copy and paste the code into a website. Here are some sites that allow you to copy and paste game code into a personal website:

- Fog.com
- Kongregate.com/games_for_your_site (sponsored games only)
- If the desired game is not available on one of these sites, contact the game creator and ask his permission to embed the game on your website.
Step 3. Copy the HTML code
On web pages that offer games, look for the HTML code segment labeled "embed" or "share". Here are some specific instructions for the aforementioned sites:
- Bored.com: Click the desired game. Click the "Share" tab under the game, then copy the second code segment labeled "Embed".
- Fog.com: Click the desired game. Copy the code segment labeled "Embed this game" below the game description.
- Sponsored Games from Kongregate: Visit the " games for your site " page. Copy the "Embed" code next to the game you want to add.
- Warning - Make sure you copy the HTML code inside the,, or. If the code uses a different tag, it's possible that the code is just a link to the website in question, and not a code to show the game.
Step 4. Paste the code on the main part of the web page
You can add games to the site by pasting the copied code. Place the code between the markers in the HTML document, or in whatever segment you want.
Step 5. Follow the terms of service
Most gaming websites have terms of service for other websites wishing to display the games on offer. If you do not follow these conditions, the respective website may remove the game from your site. Here are some of the requirements that are generally set:
- Users may not change the appearance or content within the embedded game restrictions.
- Users may not acknowledge ownership or charge visitors for playing the game.
- Users may not host games on sites that contain illegal or obscene content.
Method 2 of 2: Hosting the Game
Step 1. Know the risks to the hosting process
To host a game, you'll need to download the game file and upload it back to the website. However, the downloaded files may contain viruses and malware. Learn what to avoid and how to install an antivirus program in the first place. It is recommended that you scan any downloaded files before opening them.

Step 2. Look for game sites that allow visitors to download available games
Only select sites that allow their visitors to download available games, and keep in mind that not all sites can be trusted. Here are some sites that generally offer safe downloads. However, there is still a possibility that the available games contain viruses because the games are made by various people.

- If you can't find the download link for the game you want, contact the game maker directly for permission.
Step 3. Download the game
Most sites limit the number of downloads of trusted games and sometimes require you to visit a special page in order to get the download link. Meanwhile, some other sites allow you to download games from the game's page.
- Each of the links above will take you directly to the download page. Just click the link next to each game you want, then double-click the compressed file to get the game file.
- On Bored.com, visit the game's page, click the “Share” tab under the game, then select the download link under the HTML embed code.
Step 4. Upload the game files to your website directory
Most browser games are built using Flash so they have the.swf extension. There are also some games created in HTML or (less commonly) other formats, but make sure you recognize the game's file extension before uploading it.
- If you're using a free web hosting service like WordPress, you may need to install an add-on or plugin in order to host your own games. Look for Flash player add-ons if you want to install Flash games on your site.
- Some web hosts do not support.swf files or other game files. In this situation, upload the file to the free content host's website, then link to the game using the bookmarks as described below.
Step 5. Create a link to the game
Once the game is uploaded, you can create a link to the game file, just like links to other pages on the site. With this link, visitors will be taken to a new page to play the game, but will still be on your domain.
Step 6. Embed the game on the page
If you want to install the game on a plain HTML page along with other content, use the,, or:
- For a very basic Flash game embed, type it into the HTML editing page. There are various ways to modify the marker. Follow the installation method above to find examples to learn from.
- Some downloaded game files come with a text document containing HTML embed code to copy and paste into the site. Make sure you understand the function of the code before uploading it. Change the link to a link to the game file, and not the game's original website.
Step 7. Follow the terms of use
Usually, you should not charge visitors for playing the game. Do not acknowledge ownership of the game, and do not copy and paste the description of the game without the permission of the creator. Some game provider websites even set additional restrictions.
