Unturned is an entertaining and user-friendly zombie-themed survival game. The single player mode in Unturned is fun, but playing with other people is much more fun. Luckily, Nelson (creator of Unturned) has added multiplayer options and servers. These options and servers allow players from all over the world to connect with each other and destroy zombies together. This wikiHow teaches you how to create an Unturned server.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Creating the Server and Files
Step 1. Access local files (local files)
These files determine the appearance and all statistics of the game. You can access local files via Steam. Follow these steps to open local files.
- open Steam.
- Click the tab " Library ” at the top of the screen.
- Right click " Unturned ” on the game list.
- Click " Properties ” at the bottom of the menu.
- Click the tab " Local Files ”.
- Click " Browse Local Files ” to open the “Local Files” folder in a Windows Explorer window.
Step 2. Right-click the Unturned.exe file

To change the name, click the shortcut once to select it, then click again to mark the file name. Type in a new file name. You can name it as you wish. However, it is recommended that you use a name such as " Unturned – server " or something similar so that you can easily remember it later.
Step 5. Right-click the shortcut
A menu will appear next to the file. Make sure you right click the new shortcut and not the original " Unturned.exe " file.
Step 6. Click Properties
It's at the bottom of the menu that appears when you right-click the Unturned shortcut.
Step 7. Enclose the target location with quotes
The target location is in the column next to the column labeled "Target". The column has an entry like this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Unturned\Unturned.exe". If the entry is not enclosed in quotation marks, insert a quotation mark before and after it in the column.
Step 8. Add a space, then type -batchmode -nographics
This entry is added after the target location in the "Target" column.
Step 9. Add a space and type in +secureserver/server_name

The final entry in the “Target” column will look like this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Unturned\Unturned.exe" -batchmode -nographics +Secureserver/Wikihow
If you want to create a local server, replace the " secureserver " entry with "LAN server". Only players connected to the local network can join your LAN server

Tips
- You can download a custom map from the Unturned Workshop segment for use on the server.
- If the server is not displayed in the server menu, pay attention to the bottom of the game window. Some settings such as map or server names may prevent you from searching for servers that have already been created. Set all options to " Any _ " and delete any text in the “ServerName” and “ServerPassword” fields. Now, your server can be displayed in the game.
- Add WorkshopMods or Rocketmod plugins to the server. Have a good time!
- If the file “COMMANDS. DAT” is opened in a media player program, right-click the file and select “Open with”, then click Notepad or Notepad++.
