This wikiHow teaches you how to create and share an invite link to add friends to a chat channel on the Discord server on Android devices. You must have administrator permissions on the server in order to invite new users to the chat channel.
Step
Step 1. Open the Discord app on the Android device
The Discord icon looks like a white game controller inside a blue circle. You can find this icon in the list/apps page of the device.
Step 2. Touch the three horizontal lines icon
It's in the top-left corner of the screen. This button will display a list of all servers and chat channels on the left side of the screen.
Step 3. Touch the server icon
Select a server from the list of all servers on the left side of the screen. After that, a list of all text and voice channels on the server will be loaded.
Step 4. Touch Create Instant Invite
This option is below the server name, at the top of the screen. A new page for creating invitations will load.
Step 5. Touch Channel under "Instant Invite"
With this button, you can select a chat channel for invites to the server. You can invite users to the chat channel #general or other channels on the same server.
Step 6. Select the expiry date of the invitation in the "Expire After" section
You can set the link invitation expiration time (eg. 30 minutes ”, “ 6 hours ", or " 1 day ”).
If you choose " never ”, the invite link has no expiration limit. This means you can use the link at any time in the future to invite and add users to the channel.
Step 7. Select the maximum usage limit for invitations in the "Max Uses" section
You can set the invitation to expire after a certain number of uses (eg. 1 use ”, “ 10 uses ", or " 100 uses "). The invite link will not work once it has been used as much as the maximum number you set.
Step 8. Slide the Temporary Membership switch to position
When the temporary membership is set to the active position (“On”) for invitees, users who have been invited will automatically be removed from the chat channel after exiting the application or being outside the network.
Step 9. Touch the invite link
This link is at the top of the screen. Once touched, the link will be copied to the device's clipboard (clipboard). You can paste it in a direct or private message if you want to invite your Discord friends to your channel.
Step 10. Touch the “Share” button next to the invite link
This button looks like three dots connected by two lines in the upper-right corner of the screen. A pop-up menu will load and you can select an app to share the invitation with.
Step 11. Select the app from the pop-up menu
You can share the invite link via messaging apps or social media like WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, and Signal. The selected application will be opened and the contact list will be loaded.
Step 12. Select the friends you want to invite
Scroll through the contact list and tap the friend you want to invite to the Discord chat channel.
If the contact doesn't have a Discord account, he or she will need to create an account before they can join the channel
Step 13. Send out invitations
Touch the “Send” button on the application you are using. Once your friend accepts and clicks on the link, he or she can join the chat channel on Discord.
