Method 1 of 1: Restoring Your iPad
If your iPad really isn't working, even after a factory reset, restoring it with Recovery Mode might help. If your iPad doesn't have a Home button, you can reboot your iPad.

Connect your iPad's USB cable to the computer but don't connect it to your iPad.

Open iTunes.

Press and hold the Home button on your iPad.

While holding down the Home button, connect your iPad to the cable.

Keep pressing the Home button until the iTunes logo appears on your iPad.

Click. OK in the box that appears in iTunes.

Click. Restore iPad….
Click Restore to confirm.

Wait until the recovery process is complete. This process takes a few minutes.

Restore from files you've backed up or set up as a new iPad. Once the restore process is complete, you will be given the option to restore files that were previously backed up on your computer or set up iPad as a new device.

Sign back in with your Apple ID. After resetting iPad, sign in with your Apple ID so you can download apps you've purchased in the App Store.

- Tap the "iTunes & App Store" option.
- Enter your Apple ID information then tap "Sign In".
Resetting an iPad That Doesn't Have a Home Button
If you want to restore your iPad but there is no Home button, you can use a free utility to force your iPad into recovery mode.

Download RecBoot on your computer. RecBoot is available for Windows and OS X. With RecBoot you can put your iPad in recovery mode without using the home button.

Start running RecBoot.

Connect your iPad to the computer using USB.

Click. Enter Recovery in the RecBoot window.

Open iTunes.

Click. OK in the box that appears in iTunes.

Click. Restore iPad….
