Photos and other images can make web pages and printed materials more attractive. You can embed images on text quickly and easily. However, the way to embed the image is different, depending on the application you are using. Word, PowerPoint, WordPress, and HTML support adding images to text. Read step 1 below to get started.

Step 1. Select the type of image you want to affix

You can embed a picture, or insert a graphic, clip art, or chart. You can also create shapes or graphics

Step 2. Click the Insert tab, then click the icon for the type of image you selected

  • After clicking the "Picture" icon, you will see the "Insert Picture" window. Place the cursor at the image insertion location, then open the folder containing the image. Click the image icon to select it, then click "Insert".
  • After clicking the "ClipArt" icon, you'll see a sidebar for selecting ClipArt. Find a ClipArt you like, or look for a ClipArt in the catalog. Click a ClipArt to select it. The selected ClipArt will be inserted into the document.
  • After clicking the "SmartArt" icon, you will see a window to select and insert SmartArt into the document. Once the SmartArt is inserted, make image adjustments.

Step 1. On the draft post or page, place the cursor at the image insertion location

Step 2. Upload an image by clicking the "Add an Image" icon above the text box

You can choose to upload an image from your computer or URL, or use an image already in your media library

Step 3. Select the tab that corresponds to the image source

  • If you want to upload an image from your computer, select the image, then click "OK". After that, add an image title, caption, description, and alternative title if desired, and click "Insert into Post". You can also adjust the size and layout of the images in this window, or adjust them later.
  • If you want to add an image from another URL, find the page containing the image, right-click on the page and select "Copy URL". After that, paste the copied URL into the "Image URL" field in WordPress. However, before adding an image, make sure you have the owner's permission.

Step 2. Create a sign for the image with syntax

  • Replace "URL" with the name and file extension of the image you've uploaded.
  • Replace "alternative text" with the text that will appear in browsers that can't display images.
  • For example, your image syntax would look something like this:

Step 3. Upload the HTML file to your site by FTP

After that, visit the site to make sure that the uploaded image displays correctly.
