Bricks are decorative building blocks in the game Minecraft. Bricks can be used to make houses, towers, and other buildings more interesting. You can also use it to build sturdy stairs and good quality fireplaces that don't burn easily. This wikiHow teaches you how to make bricks in Minecraft.

Part 1 of 3: Melting the Brick in the Furnace
Step 1. Find the clay blocks
You can find them near or in lakes and rivers. This block is solid, smooth, and gray in color.
Step 2. Mine the clay blocks
You can use any tool to mine clay (including by hand). However, the fastest way to mine them is with a shovel. When you break a block of clay with your spade or hand, you will get 4 clay balls.
Step 3. Build or find a furnace
You will need a crafting table and stones to build a furnace. Place 8 stone blocks in the center of the square on the crafting table. After that, hold down Shift and click, or drag the furnace into your inventory. On the Playstation, select the furnace in the same options as the crafting table in the Structures tab.
You can also look for furnaces in the houses of the blacksmiths in the village
Step 4. Put 4 clay balls in the furnace
Open the furnace by right-clicking or pressing the left trigger button on the controller (controller). Next, select the clay ball in your inventory and place it in the slot above the flame icon at the top of the furnace menu.
Step 5. Put the fuel into the furnace
The fuel used can be charcoal, coal, or wood. Open the furnace, then click on the fuel in the inventory. Next, place the fuel in the icon below the flame icon at the top of the furnace menu. The clay will automatically start melting.
The most efficient fuel is coal. You can find them in caves and along piles of rocks. Wood can be obtained from any tree. You can also get charcoal by burning wood in a furnace
Step 6. Wait for the bricks to finish melting
Melting objects in the furnace takes a few minutes, and can take longer if you make a lot of bricks. While waiting, you can do other things, and return to the furnace a few minutes later.
Step 7. Take the bricks in the furnace
When the bricks have been smelted, the fire in the furnace will be extinguished. Open the furnace by right-clicking or pressing the left trigger button, then selecting the brick in the top right corner of the furnace menu. Hold down Shift and click, or click and drag bricks into the inventory.
Part 2 of 3: Making Blocks of Bricks
Step 1. Make or find a craft table
You must have a crafting table to make brick blocks. You need bricks to make brick blocks. A craft table can be made of 4 wooden plank blocks.
Step 2. Open the crafting table
Open the crafting table by right-clicking or pressing the left trigger button.
Step 3. Make a block of bricks
You must have at least 4 bricks in your inventory. Open the crafting table menu by right-clicking on the table or pressing the left trigger button on the controller. On the Playstation, select the brick block in the Structures tab. On another platform, place 4 bricks in the crafting box, in the following order:
- Place 1 brick in the center slot.
- Place 1 brick in the center slot on the left.
- Place the remaining 2 bricks just below the previous 2 bricks.
Step 4. Drag the brick blocks into the inventory
To put a brick block into the inventory, hold down the Shift key and click, or drag the block into the inventory. Stone blocks can be used to build structures, just like any other building block.
On Playstation, have 4 blocks ready in your inventory, go to the crafting table, then select a brick block in the stone block option under the Structures tab. Press the right and left shoulder buttons to select another tab. After that, use the left analog stick to browse through the other options
Part 3 of 3: Making Things from Bricks and Blocks of Bricks
Step 1. Make or find a craft table
You must have a crafting table to make brick blocks. You need bricks to make brick blocks. A craft table can be made of 4 wooden plank blocks.
Step 2. Open the crafting table
Open the crafting table by right-clicking or pressing the left trigger button.
Step 3. Make a brick slab
A brick slab is half a brick block, which is used to build stairs. Three brick blocks can produce 6 brick slabs. On the game console, select the brick slab from the slabs options located under the Structures tab. On another platform, place 3 brick blocks in the crafting box in the following order:
- Place the brick block in the lower center square.
- Place the brick block in the lower right square.
- Place the brick block in the lower left box.
Step 4. Take the brick slab
Hold down Shift and click, or drag a brick slab into the inventory. On Playstation, slabs of bricks are automatically added to your inventory when you select them in the crafting menu.
Step 5. Open the crafting table
Open the crafting table by right-clicking or pressing the left trigger button.
Step 6. Make a brick staircase
You can make 4 sets of brick stairs from 6 brick blocks. You can make stairs up and down by combining brick stairs. On the Playstation, select the brick staircase under the options in the Structures tab. On another platform, place the brick blocks in the crafting box in the following positions:
- Place a block of bricks in each of the boxes in the bottom row of crafting boxes.
- Place the brick block in the center square.
- Place the brick block in the center left square.
- Place the brick block in the top left box.
Step 7. Take the brick ladder
Hold down Shift and click, or drag the ladder into the inventory. On the game console, the brick ladder will be added automatically to your inventory when you select it.
Step 8. Open the crafting table
Open the crafting table by right-clicking or pressing the left trigger button.
Step 9. Make a flower pot
You need 3 bricks (not brick blocks) to make a pot. On the Playstation, select the flowerpot in the Decorations tab. On another platform, place the bricks in the crafting box in the following order:
- Place the bricks in the center square.
- Place the bricks in the top left box.
- Place the bricks in the top right square.
Step 10. Take the flower pot
To pick up a flowerpot, hold down Shift and click, or drag the pot to your inventory. On game consoles, flower pots are automatically added to your inventory when you select them in the crafting menu.
