One of the most effective ways to get an HDTV signal is to use an HDTV (High-Definition Television) antenna based on the DB4 model. In stores, the antenna of this model costs at least Rp. 550,000. However, you can build your own antenna at a lower cost. See the following guide for building an HDTV antenna.
Step
Step 1. Prepare the wooden planks
- The size is 2.5x7.5 cm or 5x7.5 cm.
- The length is 55 cm.
- Place the board horizontally, draw a line from left to right at 5 cm, 18 cm, 30 cm and 45 cm. Use a marker or pencil.
- Make 2 dots on each line evenly.
Step 2. Cut the copper wire into 8 pieces
Each piece should measure 35 cm long
Step 3. Bend each piece of wire
- Each section must be bent so that each side measures 18 cm long.
- The gap between each side should be 7.5 cm long.
- When you're done, each wire should resemble a "V" shape.
Step 4. Attach the “V” shaped wire to the board
- Attach the center (bent) of each wire to the dotted part of the board using screws and washers.
- When you're done, each "V"-shaped wire will extend out of the board.
Step 5. Make a 2-wire braid on the board
- Use the remaining piece of wire to make it.
- The bent "V" shaped wire sections should cross each other.
- The wires must not touch each other.
- Make sure that at least one of the interwoven wires has insulation. Vinyl insulation can be used.
- When finished, the wire will resemble 2 "X" shapes joining the first, second, third, and fourth wire sections, respectively. 2 horizontal lines must connect the “X” shape between the second and third sections of the “V” shaped wire
Step 6. Install the reflector (grill net) on the board
- The two reflectors must be evenly attached to the back of the board.
- Each reflector must measure 38x23 cm.
- Use screws to complete this job.
- The reflector must not touch the "V" shaped wire.
Step 7. Attach the balun to the center 2 of the wire
- Balun is a transformer that can be purchased via the internet or electronics stores.
- Follow the directions on the balun package.
Step 8. Attach the antenna to the HD television
- Use a coax cable, which can be purchased online or at an electronics store.
- Follow the instructions on the coax cable package.
