Method 2 of 2: Easy Ways to Freeze Avocado
Avocados frozen this way won't be as good and fresh, and if crushed they won't be as good as puree. However, this is the quickest way and is very useful especially if you need avocado to add to your dish or cake batter.
Step 1. Cut a ripe avocado
Wrap it in foil or plastic food wrap.
Step 2. Put everything in the freezer
Step 3. Once frozen, put it in a sealable plastic bag
Label and date the pouch.
Step 4. To defrost, place the avocado at room temperature for about an hour or microwave it on a low setting or on a low setting for less than a minute
The result is suitable for making guacamole, chocolate pudding, cookie dough, etc.
Tips
- Whole avocados cannot be frozen as they will turn into a messy, mushy pulp. Avocado slices and slices can't either. Avocados that want to be frozen must be mashed or pureed first.
- White vinegar can be used instead of lemon or lime juice. The lime juice or vinegar will prevent the avocado from browning.
