Step 2. Add 1 cup (240 milliliters) of cold water to the mixture

If you want to speed up the solidification of the Jello, use an ice cube to fill 1 cup (240 milliliters). Don't forget that the Jello will start to solidify quickly. Therefore, you need to work quickly.

Step 3. Pour the ingredients into the dough and add some fruit, if desired

After adding the fruit, stir quickly so that the fruit crumbles. You can use a roasting pan, bowl, or even a fancy Jello mold. You can also use any kind of fruit. Try adding grape wedges, berries, and oranges.

  • If you're using a frying pan, choose one that's 23 by 30.5 centimeters or 20 by 20 centimeters if you want to cut the Jello into interesting shapes with a cookie cutter.
  • If you are using a fancy Jello mold and want to add fruit, fill it with 1.27 cm of Jello first then add the desired fruit. Fill the rest of the mold with Jello and don't stir the fruit to create interesting designs on top of the mold.

Step 4. Place in the refrigerator and wait for about 2-3 hours for the Jello to solidify

Depending on the temperature of the refrigerator and the amount of Jello made, it may take overnight. You can test if Jello is ready by pressing your finger on Jello. If it's still sticking to your finger, it means the Jello hasn't been finished yet. On the other hand, if it's not sticky, it means Jello is ready.

Step 5. Remove the Jello from the mold and transfer to a serving plate

Dip the mold in warm water until it reaches the edges. Wait 10 seconds, then flip the Jello out of the mold onto a plate. If it doesn't come out, dip it back into the warm water for 10 seconds.

  • If you pour Jello into individual bowls, you don't need to remove the Jello from the mould.
  • If you're pouring Jello into a baking pan, cut it into cubes, or use a cookie cutter and make interesting shapes. If you're having trouble, dip the pan in warm water for 10 seconds.
  • If you are pouring Jello into a large bowl, scoop it out with a melon spoon to make small balls. Serve the Jello balls in a separate bowl.

Step 1. Mix the gelatin with cup (60 milliliters) of cold water and stir

Pour cold water into a measuring cup, then sprinkle gelatin over it. Stir until thickened.

If you are a vegan/vegetarian and want to make a solid Jello, use 2 teaspoons of powdered jelly. You can also use 57 grams of carrageenan

Step 2. Stir in cup (60 milliliters) of hot water

The water should be hot enough, but not boiling. The water will soften the gelatin and melt it slightly. Don't worry, Jello will thicken again.

Step 3. Add 1½ cups (350 milliliters) of fruit juice

You can also use one type of fruit or two types of fruit juice for a unique taste. Many people use apples, grapes, oranges, or pineapples.

  • Be careful when using pineapple juice. Sometimes the enzymes in the pineapple juice prevent the Jello from solidifying properly.
  • Give it a taste of Jello. If the Jello isn't sweet enough, add a sweetener, such as agave, sugar, or stevia.

Step 4. Pour the mixture into the desired mold and add fruit, if desired

Just about any fruit goes well with Jello, including blueberries, lime wedges, pineapple, and strawberries. After you add the fruit, give it a quick stir.

  • If you want to cut the Jello into cubes or unique shapes, pour the Jello into a baking pan measuring 23 x 30.5 centimeters or 20 x 20 centimeters.
  • If you want to add fruit to a fancy mold, first fill the mold with 1.3 cm of Jello mixture, then add the fruit. Fill the remaining molds with the Jello mixture until full, do not stir. That way, you can get an attractive design.

Step 6. Remove your Jello from the mold and serve

You can serve Jello alone, or garnish with whipped cream. You can also add pieces of fruit.

  • If you chilled the Jello in a baking pan, cut it into cubes or use a cookie cutter to make unique shapes.
  • If you chilled the Jello in a bowl, try using a melon spoon to make Jello balls.
  • If you are cooling the Jello with a fancy mold, dip the mold in warm water all the way to the edges. Wait 10 seconds, then turn the Jello over to the plate. If it won't come out, dip it back into the warm water.

Tips

  • Jello is great for relieving a sore throat, or on a liquid diet.
  • If you want a denser Jello, add some gelatin.
  • You can give Jello to your baby if the Jello is not completely solid.
  • Mix different flavors of Jello to create unique flavors.
  • For best results, allow the Jello mixture to cool before adding to the mould. Don't let the Jello set so it doesn't get thick.
  • Add a little alcohol before the Jello mixture cools to make a Jello shot.
