Step
Method 1 of 3: Making Grilled Deer Sausage
Step 1. Heat the grill to medium temperature
If you are using a gas or electric grill, set the temperature to 177 °C. If you're using a charcoal grill, turn the heat to low and wait until you can bring your hands close to the grill for 6 seconds.
Step 2. Apply olive oil to the sausage or roasting iron
To make sure the sausage doesn't stick to the grill, use a kitchen brush to apply a small amount of oil to the surface of the sausage. If your iron is dirty, grease the iron by soaking a paper towel in olive oil and sweeping it all over the grill.
Step 3. Place your sausages in the grill
Use tongs so you don't get hurt. If you are using a charcoal grill, place it near the fire, not in the center. Make sure the sausage joints do not touch each other so that they cook evenly.
Step 4. Turn the sausage every few minutes
After 2-3 minutes, flip the sausage with tongs. This will prevent it from burning. Reduce the roasting time if the sausage begins to blacken.
Step 5. Bake the sausage until the temperature inside reaches 71 °C
Grill the sausages until they are quite firm and golden brown in color. In general, sausages need to be roasted for 10-20 minutes. To make sure it's safe to eat, use a food thermometer to check for the thickest part of the sausage. Remove the sausage when the temperature inside reaches 71 °C.
Step 6. Remove and serve sausages
When the sausage is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it sit for a few minutes. Once cool enough to the touch, the sausage is ready to serve.
Place leftover sausages in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 5 days
Method 2 of 3: Frying Deer Sausage in a Frying Pan
Step 1. Heat a skillet over medium heat
Place the stainless steel skillet on the stove and set it to medium. Let the pan heat up for 15 minutes.
Step 2. Put 30 ml of olive oil in a frying pan
Pour 30 ml of regular or pure olive oil into the pan. Let sit until the oil starts to sizzle.
Step 3. Add sausage
Once the olive oil starts to sizzle, add the reindeer sausage to it. Shake the pan to spread the oil so the sausage doesn't stick.
Step 4. Flip the sausage for a few minutes
To make sure the sausage doesn't burn, flip it every 2-3 minutes with tongs. If your sausage appears blackened, turn it over more often.
Step 5. Add the chopped onions to the pan after 10 minutes (optional)
To make the sausage more delicious, add chopped onions to it. Peel the onion, then cut it in half and cut it into rings. After the sausages have cooked for 10 minutes, sprinkle the onions and a little olive oil in the pan. Use half an onion for 2 sausages.
Step 6. Cook sausages for 10-15 minutes
Keep turning the sausage every 2 to 3 minutes. If you're adding onions, stir them so they don't stick to the pan and the sausage can absorb the flavor.
Step 7. Remove the sausage when the internal temperature reaches 71 °C
After 15 to 20 minutes, check the sausage to make sure it's done. Cooked sausages should be black or golden brown and firm to the touch. Before eating sausage, place a food thermometer in the thickest part of the sausage. If the temperature in that section reaches 71 °C, the sausage is cooked and ready to be served.
Method 3 of 3: Baking Deer Sausage
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 177 °C
This temperature will allow the sausage to cook perfectly without damaging the surface.
Step 2. Oil the pan with nonstick spray
If you are using a baking sheet, coat the bottom with nonstick spray. If you are using a roasting pan, coat the inside with nonstick spray.
Step 3. Add the peppers and onions to the skillet (optional)
For extra flavor, add peppers and onions to the pan. Cut the ingredients into large pieces, then put them in the bottom of the pan.
If you're using a grill, coat the bottom with oil before adding the peppers and onions
Step 4. Apply butter to the surface of the sausage to add to its delicacy
Place small pieces of butter in a heatproof bowl and cover with paper towels, then microwave until melted. Use a kitchen brush to coat the sausage with butter. This will preserve the delicious taste of the sausage as it cooks.
Step 5. Put the sausages in the pan and bake for 15 minutes
Place the sausages in a baking dish or grill rack. To cook evenly, make sure the sausages don't touch each other. Place the skillet in the center of the oven and let the sausages cook for 15 minutes.
Step 6. Flip the sausage and cook for 15 minutes
After 15 minutes, flip the sausage over with tongs so that one side doesn't overcook. Then, bake the sausage for another 15 minutes.
Step 7. Remove the sausage when the inside reaches 71 °C
When the sausage is golden brown and firm, use a food thermometer to check for the thickest part of the meat. When the temperature reaches 71 °C, the sausage is done. Remove the sausages from the oven and let the sausages rest before serving.
Store leftover sausages in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 5 days
