Cooking sausages perfectly is sometimes quite difficult. Making sausages crispy and golden brown with a cooked filling sounds impossible. Luckily, there are many ways to cook delicious sausages with crispy skins and savory insides for dinner. It is not recommended to cook frozen sausages. So, make sure you defrost it first before processing.

Method 1 of 3: Cooking Sausage in the Oven
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 191°C
The oven temperature may vary by type. If you are using a fan oven, the recommended temperature is 191 °C, while a suitable temperature for a gas oven is 171 °C.
Step 2. Put a tablespoon of olive oil in the roasting pan, then place the sausage you want to cook
Rotate the sausage a few times to allow the oil to adhere before cooking.
Place the grill pan on a sheet of foil to keep it from getting dirty
Step 3. Bake the sausages for 20-25 minutes, turning 2-3 times as they cook
Make sure you turn the sausage over when it's halfway through the cooking time. This will allow the sausage to cook evenly and have a golden brown color on the outside.
Sausages may have a lighter or darker color as they begin to cook. Not all sausages are the same color
Step 4. Use a meat thermometer to make sure the temperature in the thickest part of the sausage reaches 71 °C
When the sausage is split open, there should be no pink flesh and the liquid should be clear.
If you're not sure the sausage is fully cooked, put it back in the oven for another 5 minutes, then check the temperature again
Method 2 of 3: Baking Sausage
Step 1. Heat the grill over medium heat for 10-15 minutes
Once the grill is heated, turn off the two burners to create an indirect heat source.
Step 2. Place the sausages on a wire rack directly above the indirect heat source
Using a wire rack to hold the sausages in will allow them to cook more evenly because they are not exposed to direct heat. If your grill has grill racks on top and bottom, using the top rack will suffice.
If you don't have wire racks or holders, you can make your own from foil. Roll up a sheet of aluminum foil to form a rope. Bend the roll until it is shaped like an S, then place the sausage on top
Step 3. Cook the sausages in the grill for 15 minutes with the lid on
Flip the sausage when it's halfway through the cooking time. This will make both sides of your sausage appear golden brown and cook evenly.
Step 4. Use a meat thermometer to make sure the temperature in the center reaches 71 °C
Once it reaches 71 °C, place the sausage directly on the grill for 3 minutes to brown the outside. Flip the sausage and heat the other side for 1-3 minutes until lightly browned.
- You don't have to brown the sausage any more by cooking it for another 3 minutes. As long as the center is cooked, you can eat it!
- If the sausage doesn't reach 71 °C, cover the grill and cook another 5 minutes before checking again.
Method 3 of 3: Frying Sausages in a Frying Pan
Step 1. Put the sausages in a large skillet, then add cold water until the sausages are submerged
Turn on the stove over medium heat and let it simmer. This usually takes between 6 to 8 minutes.
Bringing the water to a boil will allow the sausages to cook evenly and tenderize the meat
Step 2. Use an instant thermometer to make sure the sausage is at least 71 °C
The sausage will still look gray from the outside, but the inside is cooked. The liquid that comes out of the sausage will look clear.
Step 3. Prepare a different frying pan, then add enough oil
Turn on the stove over high heat and let the oil heat up.
Step 4. Put the sausages in the pan to sauté them
The sausages don't need to be cooked in the oil for too long because they are already cooked. Once it's turned the golden brown you'd like, remove the sausage from the pan so it doesn't overcook and dry out.
Sausages can be placed whole in the pan, cut lengthwise, halved, or cut into small pieces
Tips
Most products include a cooking method on the sales package and indicate whether the product must be thawed first
Warning
- For sausages that contain pork and red meat, such as beef, veal or lamb, make sure the temperature when cooked reaches 74 °C.
- Other types of sausage, such as chicken or turkey sausage, can be served once the temperature has reached 71 °C.
