Promescent is an over-the-counter medication that is sold for premature ejaculation. Using Promescent with the appropriate dose on the genitals before having sex will cause the genitals to numb so that sufferers of premature ejaculation can last longer. Promescent is a drug that will affect your body and your partner. So, consider the risks together before using it.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Using Promescent
Step 1. Set the time
You need to use Promescent at least ten minutes before sexual intercourse. The numbing effect will last up to an hour. Using Promescent in a matter of hours or seconds before sexual intercourse will not do any good.
Step 2. Prepare the bottle
If you are using a standard dose vial, you will need to prepare one. Remove the small piece of plastic above the muzzle. Open the lid. Tilt the bottle to the side and shake for ten seconds. Examine the bottle and gently press the spray pump. Do this twenty times, waiting about two seconds between each spray. When the formula is out, stop.
Step 3. Determine the dose for you
For the first time, you should start with one or two sprays. The directions suggest three sprays for the first try, but many users find this dose too numbing. UNSAFE if you use more than 10 sprays per dose. Each spray dispenses 10 mg of diluted lidocaine.
Step 4. Find your frenulum
The frenulum is usually the most sensitive part of the penis. This section is a small fold of tissue under the head of the penis, at the bottom of the penis.
Step 5. Use 1-3 sprays
Spray Promescent directly onto the penis, or spray it onto your fingertips and rub the formula onto the penis. Repeat up to three times with the same method. Although the recommended dose is three times, many users find one or two sprays sufficient. Do it on the frenulum or other point that you think is sensitive.
- Make sure you scrub it after each spray.
- Wash hands immediately afterward. Promescent imprints on your hands can put you or your partner at risk for eye injuries.
Step 6. Wait ten minutes
Spend ten minutes without touching or washing your genitals. The skin will absorb the Promescent at this time. Waiting for this absorption to take place will allow you to maintain a pleasant sensation. This step also minimizes the transfer of anesthesia to your partner.
- After ten minutes have passed, wash the genitals with soap and water. Some traces can cause numbness to the pair if you don't wash them.
- Don't be afraid to wash it. All active ingredients will be absorbed after ten minutes.
- However, soaking your genitals will cause Promescent to seep out. Do not shower after using Promescent. Instead, clean yourself with a damp cloth.
- After Promescent is absorbed and the genitals are washed, products such as condoms or lubricants are safe to use.
Step 7. Observe your progress during sex
Most users experience 2-3 times longer sexual intercourse the first time they use Promescent. Some users report better results after three uses of the product. During the first use, pay attention to whether you feel too numb or not numb enough. Ask your partner if that makes him or her feel any numbness at all.
- Reuse as you like. If you feel the effect is not strong enough or has faded, you can repeat the use. Do not use more than 10 sprays in total.
- If you use 10 sprays for the first round of intercourse, don't use them again.
- If you use more than 10 Promescent sprays, you may experience numbness, loss of erection, and irritation.
- In case of overuse, wash your penis immediately with soap and water. See a doctor if symptoms persist.
Step 8. Adjust the dose
Depending on how your first experience was, you can spray more, less, or on other parts of your penis. If numbing the frenulum doesn't work for you, try spraying it along the shaft, or on the foreskin of the penis. Repeated use will help you determine the right dose and the right method of use.
Method 2 of 2: Deciding If Promescent Is Right for You
Step 1. Talk to your partner
Promescent doesn't just affect you. This drug also affects your sexual partners. Before use, discuss the risks and possible side effects of Promescent with your partner. Your partner is at risk of numbness or irritation if you take Promescent.
Tell your partner before you receive oral sex. Your partner's mouth may go numb, especially if you don't thoroughly clean Promescent after use
Step 2. Get a trial size bottle
If you and your partner aren't sure if Promescent is right for you, get a trial size bottle. This bottle contains 10 sprays, and is designed for single use. If you prefer, you can purchase a standard dose bottle.
Step 3. Talk to your doctor
If you frequently ejaculate before five minutes of intercourse, talk to your doctor. Premature ejaculation is common, but it can sometimes cause serious problems. If you have symptoms of diabetes, thyroid problems, nerve damage, or prostate cancer, see your doctor and describe your concerns.
Step 4. Check for allergies, sores, and wounds
Promescent contains lidocaine. If you or your partner are allergic to this substance, do not use Promescent. If you are using Promescent and notice that you or your partner develop a rash, irritation, itching, or burning, discontinue use.
- Check for cuts and scrapes. Do not use Promescent on cracked or irritated skin.
- Examine yourself, and ask your partner to examine himself, to make sure that neither one has a rash, cuts, bumps, or other marks on your genitals.
- Do not use if your partner is pregnant or may become pregnant.
- If you or your partner are being treated for kidney or liver disease, do not use Promescent.
Tips
- Promescent is available in two sizes: trial size and standard size. Usually it takes 3-4 times of using the product to optimize your performance.
- The standard size bottle contains about 60 sprays and has a metered dose feature. This bottle may be the best choice if you have clinical premature ejaculation and will be using 3 or more sprays per dose or if you want a more accurate dose.
Warning
- If swallowed, call a doctor and go to the nearest emergency room.
- Promescent is a topical spray. Only safe for external use. Do not swallow. Do not spray on or around the eyes.
- Keep in mind that Promescent does not protect you from STDs. So, you still need to wear a condom during sex for STD protection.
- Do not use Promescent if you or your partner are allergic to lidocaine or other anesthetics.
