Blackheads can infect anyone, no matter if they are male or female, and how old they are. Blackheads are “clogged hair follicles” and are filled with excess oil, dead skin and bacteria. The best skin care method can be a preventative measure to help prevent blackheads before they start to form. However, after doing a perfect skin care routine even the occasional blackhead problem will still bother you and you need a way to get rid of it as quickly as possible.
Step
Part 1 of 3: Get Rid of Blackheads with Toothpaste
Step 1. Choose the correct type of toothpaste
Make sure you only use the right toothpaste. Choose the type of white toothpaste, not gel. Also, try to choose the plainest toothpaste, not toothpaste used to whiten teeth or formulated for sensitive teeth. Min scented toothpaste can also be used.
The “toothpaste method” is highly recommended by some DIY experts and the average person, but not recommended by doctors. The reason behind the efficacy of toothpaste in getting rid of blackheads and pimples is that it contains ingredients that help dry out infected pores. However, as you can imagine, toothpaste also contains other ingredients that have the potential to cause other skin problems, including allergic reactions. It's up to you if you want to try this “toothpaste method,” but know that your doctor may not recommend it. If you're worried, try some of the other recommendations that use only pure, natural ingredients
Step 2. Wash your face before applying toothpaste
Wash and dry your face with warm water according to your usual daily routine. Apply a layer of toothpaste on problem areas such as the nose or chin. Allow the toothpaste to dry completely. After the toothpaste dries, gently rub it on your skin to help remove blackheads from your pores. Wash and dry your face again.
Instead of using your hands, you can apply toothpaste to your face using a washcloth soaked in olive or almond oil. You can rub the paste into your facial skin with a washcloth for a few minutes
Step 3. Add salt to the toothpaste for faster results
Wash and dry your face with warm water according to your usual daily routine. Make a mixture of pasta and salt in a ratio of 1:1. (If the mixture is too thick, add a few drops of water to thin it out). Rub the mixture onto your face and leave it on for 5-10 minutes. Gently rub the paste in a circular motion to remove the blackheads from the pores before washing them off. Apply your usual daily moisturizer after drying your face.
- Make sure your face stays moisturized throughout the process.
- In addition to salt, you can use baking soda.
- Before applying moisturizer, you can also rub an ice cube on your face to help close the pores to prevent bacteria from entering.
Part 2 of 3: Preventing Blackheads
Step 1. Wash your face twice a day
If you have a lot of blackheads, or pimples, consider using a facial cleanser that contains salicylic acid. We recommend that you use warm water to wash your face so that the pores open before using facial cleansers. Don't forget to apply moisturizer after you're done washing your face.
- So that the conditions of the pores are more open before washing it, do the evaporation by positioning your face over a bowl of hot or boiling water.
- Try to always wash your face after doing activities that cause you to sweat a lot.
Step 2. Exfoliate your face at least once a week
If done too often, exfoliating can irritate the skin. Start by exfoliating once a week. If the skin shows no signs of irritation, you can do this several times a week.
Step 3. Don't touch your face
Hands touch everything, and you don't want them to touch your face and transfer oil, dirt and bacteria to your pores. Also, try to keep your hair from touching your face as much as possible. Hair naturally contains oils that will pass from your hands to your face and then clog your pores.
Step 4. Use sunscreen every day
The moisturizer you apply to any part of your body should contain SPF protection. It's a good idea to apply a moisturizer that contains SPF protection on your face all year round.
Step 5. Use oil or mineral free cosmetics
Powder-based cosmetics are also better than cream-based cosmetics. Don't forget to always remove all cosmetics from your face before going to bed.
It's also important to keep in mind that it's important to wash the utensils and cosmetic brushes you use regularly, as bacteria and dirt build up over time. Wash utensils and cosmetic brushes with warm water and mild soap
Step 6. Drink plenty of water
Hydration is very important for the skin and the best way to hydrate the skin is to drink plenty of water.
Part 3 of 3: Get Rid of Blackheads without Toothpaste
Step 1. Make an egg white mask
Wash and dry your face according to your usual daily routine. Crack an egg and separate the yolk and egg white. Pour the egg whites into a small bowl. Take a brush and apply the egg white all over the face. Place a sheet of facial tissue, toilet paper or the like on top of the egg white. Wait for the egg white to dry, then apply a second layer of egg white on a paper towel and place the paper towel over the second layer of egg. Repeat the process of applying the egg whites and gluing the tissue 3 more times. Leave it on until all layers are completely dry, then peel off the mask by pulling on a tissue. Wash and dry your face again to remove any remaining egg whites that may be left behind.
- You can also make another mask by mixing 2 tablespoons of oats and 3 tablespoons of plain yogurt. If you want, you can also add 1-2 teaspoons of lemon juice. Leave the mask on your face for at least 5 minutes, then rinse with cold water.
- If you like red, you can make a mask using crushed tomatoes. Rub the mashed tomato on your face for a few minutes, then let it sit for another 15 minutes before rinsing it off.
Step 2. Make a pore strip using honey and milk
Combine 1 teaspoon milk and 1 tablespoon (15 ml) raw honey in a small glass bowl and heat the mixture in the microwave for 5-10 seconds. Once the mixture has thickened like a paste, allow it to cool. Apply the paste all over your face and place a clean, dry piece of cotton cloth over the paste layer. Leave the mixture on until it is completely dry on the face. Pull off a cotton cloth and rinse your face with cold water to remove any remaining dry paste.
In addition to milk, you can also use a mixture of 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and 2 teaspoons of raw honey. You'll need to mix the two ingredients together until they form a paste, but you don't need to heat it. Let the mixture sit on your face for 2-5 minutes before pulling off the cotton piece
Step 3. Use lemon juice to shrink pores
Wash and dry your face according to your usual daily routine. Squeeze fresh lemon juice and pour it into a small bottle. Use a cotton ball to apply lemon juice to your face right before going to bed. The next day, rinse your face and apply your usual moisturizer.
- You can store a bottle of lemon water in the refrigerator. Lemon water can last for 1 week.
- If pure lemon water is too harsh on your skin, mix it with a little water before applying it to your face.
- Alternatively, you can mix 3 teaspoons of lemon juice with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and apply it to your face in the same way. Leave it overnight.
- You can make another lemon water mask by mixing 4 teaspoons of lemon juice with 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of milk. Let the mixture sit on your face for about 30 minutes before rinsing it off. Do not leave the mask on the skin overnight.
Step 4. Clean your face with baking soda
Mix the baking soda and water in a small bowl until it forms a paste. Apply the paste using your fingers, and rub it over your face in a circular motion. Rinse your face with water, then pat dry and apply your usual moisturizer.
You can make another baking soda mask by mixing 1 teaspoon of sugar with 1 teaspoon of olive oil or lemon juice. Rub the mixture on your face for a minute, then rinse with water
Step 5. Buy products to get rid of blackheads that are sold in the market
Many skin care manufacturers make products specifically to treat acne or blackheads. This product may contain ingredients such as Retinol, Vitamin C, Tea Tree Oil, and more. It's possible that your favorite cosmetic manufacturer has released a product that can specifically help with blackheads.
Tips
The problem of blackheads is not only experienced by women, but also men. Doing daily facial care such as washing your face and applying moisturizer is very important even if you are a man. Treatments for blackheads can be used for both men and women
Warning
- Everyone has different skin types and sensitivities. Not every method is suitable for everyone, all the time. If your skin starts to get irritated or itchy, or you start to develop a rash, or other negative side effects, stop whatever you're doing immediately. If the problem cannot be resolved immediately, consult a doctor.
- If you have acne problems, don't use any treatments other than those prescribed by your dermatologist.
