In the modern world, no skirt is complete without a seam. Sewing a seam is not as complicated as it seems.
Step
Step 1. Determine how wide the fabric from the entire length of the skirt will be for the hem
If the skirt is long, then it can be set aside 2.5 cm wide. But for a short skirt, just 1 cm is enough.
Step 2. Use a marker or pen with a light color to make a mark on the inside of the skirt 2.5 cm wide from the skirt edge
Of course measure and mark as you wish, if the desired seam size is less or more than 2.5 cm.
You can also use a tape measure or hem gauge to measure the hem. Pin the pin along the line that will later be sewn. Fold the edge of the skirt up against the line of the pin as you remove the needle and pin it back to the pleat of the skirt. Use a heated iron on the crease to define the seam line. Follow the other instructions that have been given
Step 3. Fold the hem of the skirt inward until the hem reaches the line you have made
Make the folds with the help of a pin.
Step 4. Thread the thread through the eye of the needle
The color of the thread used should match or almost match the color of your skirt. Transparent colors can also be considered as you definitely don't want the seams to be clearly visible on your skirt.
Step 5. Sew the hem of the skirt where the hem line you've made is located
Continue sewing around the hem of the skirt until you're done. After that, also sew the other folded edges about 2.5 cm apart to make sure that no threads come out.
Step 6. To finish the hem, repeat the stitch five times in the same place
After that, cut the thread and, done!
