Although they are usually made of flowers and ribbons of various colors, bouquets can be made using other items. Making candy bouquets can be a fun activity for kids at parties, graduations, and other special occasions, especially when they can wear their delicious creations. You can make a wreath-like candy wreath using a material called cellophane, or you can make a fuller candy garland using individually wrapped candies.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Making a Simple Candy Wreath
Step 1. Roll a sheet of cellophane 90-100 cm long and 15 cm wide
You can use plastic food wrap, but do it carefully so it doesn't fold or wrinkle on its own.
Ideally, use clear cellophane. However, for a graduation event, wear your school's colors
Step 2. Arrange the candies in the center of the cellophane
Leave a distance of 2.5 cm between each candy. You should also leave 2.5 cm between the first/last candy and the short end of the cellophane.
- Ideally, use small candy bars, such as those often sold on Halloween.
- If you use small candies, such as Hershey's Kisses or Starburst, stack 3-4 candies. If you use large candies, arrange them in a group.
Step 3. Fold the cellophane over the candy, then start rolling the candy towards the other end of the cellophane
Try to leave a gap of 2.5 cm between each candy. If necessary, separate the candies using your fingers when you're done rolling them in the cellophane.
Step 4. Cut the curling tape to a length of 15-20 cm
You can also use satin ribbon or sheer ribbon. If you're going to make it for a graduation event, it's best to use school colors.
Step 5. Tie each ribbon around the space between the candies
You can simply make a double knot, or tie it into a ribbon.
If you are using a curling tape, we recommend curling the ends. The trick, pull the ribbon between the thumbs, then scissors
Step 6. Overlap the two ends of the candy wreath, then, tie a ribbon on the candy at both ends of the cellophane
Make sure to tie the ribbon in a tight double knot. If you want, you can tie the ends into a ribbon or curl them.

Method 2 of 2: Making a Complete Candy Wreath
Step 1. Prepare the wrapped candies one by one
The candy that works best for this method is one that is wrapped in cellophane, with both ends twisted tightly. Candy like this for example Werthers or Jolly Ranchers.
Step 2. Cut the curling tape 15cm long
You can also use one or more colors. If you're making it for a graduation party, use your school colors. Prepare a piece of ribbon for each candy.
Step 3. Tie a 15 cm long curling tape at one end of the candy
Place a piece of tape behind the candy wrapper, just between the candy and the twist. Make sure the candy is in the center of the ribbon, then pull the end of the ribbon toward you and tie it in a tight double knot.
Step 4. Continue tying the ribbon on the candy until there is nothing left
Don't worry if the sheet of tape is too long. You can cut it later.
Step 5. Cut the ribbon 105 cm long and 5 cm wide
You are free to choose the color of the ribbon because it will be covered with candy later. However, it's a good idea to use a color that matches the candy, otherwise the ribbon will still be visible.
Step 6. Start by tying the candy on a 5 cm wide ribbon using a tight double knot
Alternate the ribbon-tied sides of the candy, and occasionally crush the candies together. Thus, the candy bouquet will appear fuller. Leave about 5 cm at each end of the ribbon so it can be tied together. How full the wreath will look will depend on the amount of candy used.
It's a good idea to tie a knot at the end of the ribbon 5 cm wide so the candy doesn't slide out as you work
Step 7. Tie the ends of the wide ribbon to form a knot
Make sure you use a tight double knot and that there are no gaps between the knot and the candy.
Step 8. Consider cutting or curling the ends of the curling tape
You can leave the curling tape as it is, or you can trim it. You can also slightly roll the ribbon through between your thumb and scissors.
Step 9. Done
Tips
- You can make small candy garlands for children.
- Hug the person you gave the candy bouquet to.
- Give a candy bouquet as a graduation gift or at a party.
- You can also use other objects to make a composition, such as money, small toys, vouchers, and so on. Make sure the gift is appropriate for the age of the recipient.
- Make sure you check the expiration date of the candy used, and give the gift to the recipient before that date. The candy will probably last a long time, and don't let it expire before you can eat it.
Warning
- Make sure the recipient is not allergic to the candy material to be given.
- Be aware that the candy in the bouquet is unlikely to be eaten, or the money inside is not spent. An essay like this is usually given in an important and sentimental event so it is usually kept as a memento.
- Do not let children play cellophane.
- Be careful when using scissors.
