Handkerchiefs can be the right choice as accessories for men's formal attire. There are several ways to fold a handkerchief, depending on the formal style you prefer. The Presidential Fold is the most formal of the folds, while the Casual Fold can be used in any situation.

Method 1 of 5: Presidential Fold
Step 1. Place the handkerchief on a flat, hard surface and fold it in half, then smooth the sides of the handkerchief with your palm
Step 2. Fold in half again, until there is about a inch (1.2 cm) gap on the top edge
Step 3. Place the folded handkerchief in your coat or jacket pocket, so that there is inch showing out of the pocket
Trim your handkerchief to make it look more presentable.
Method 2 of 5: Fold One Corner Up
Step 1. Place the handkerchief and fold it diagonally into a triangle shape
Step 2. Fold one corner to the center and flatten it with your palm
Fold the other corner to the center and flatten again with your palm. The handkerchief will look like an open envelope.
Step 3. Place the folded handkerchief into your coat or jacket pocket with the top edge of the handkerchief facing up
Trim your handkerchief again to make it look neat.
Method 3 of 5: Fold Two Corner Up
Step 1. Place the handkerchief on a flat surface and fold it diagonally
Don't meet the two corners at the ends, give a distance between the two ends above so that the two points don't overlap each other, then you will see that there are two ends facing up.
Step 2. Fold the two side corners to the middle, you will see the shape of a shirt pocket with two ends facing up
Step 3. Place the folded handkerchief into your coat or jacket pocket with the top two corners pointing upwards
Trim your handkerchief to make it look neater.
Method 4 of 5: Three Corner Up
Step 1. Place your handkerchief and fold it diagonally, not meeting the two visible corners, so that there is some space between the two corners
That way, you'll see two ends facing up.
Step 2. Take one of the side corners and fold it in half diagonally across the border of the handkerchief, so that you will see the third corner at the top of the handkerchief
Fold the other end at a 90 degree angle.
Step 3. Put the folded handkerchief into your coat or jacket pocket showing the three corners of your handkerchief
Trim your handkerchief again to make it look more presentable.
