Step
Method 1 of 4: Creating a Solid Blusher
Step 1. Try to make a dense blush
These blushes are very similar to the ones you buy at the store, but they certainly don't contain a lot of chemicals. You can apply it using a brush or sponge. This section will show you how to create a solid blush.
Step 2. Prepare a container for mixing
You will need a container to mix all the necessary ingredients. Make sure the container is clean, because if it is dirty it will increase the risk of bacterial contamination.
Step 3. Mix food coloring and water
You need three drops of water. The amount of food coloring you will use determines how light or dark your blush is. Here's the dose for making blush:
- For a light pink color, use one to two drops of red food coloring
- For a medium pink, use three to four drops of red food coloring
- For a dark pink color, use five to six drops of red food coloring.
Step 4. Try making blush in another color
You can make blush by mixing other colors with red. Yellow food coloring will give you an orange color and blue will give you a purple color. Start with one drop of color and make sure to mix it up. Do this until you get the color you want.
- If your blush looks too orange or purple, add a drop or two of red dye.
- If you want a lighter color, you may have to add a few drops of water to get the color you want.
Step 5. Add baby powder and mix
The result you want is a thick mixture. You can add one to two teaspoons of baby powder. If you don't have baby powder, you can make one by mixing cornstarch and arrowroot powder. Your blush will appear darker, but will lighten as it dries.
Step 6. Move your blush to the storage area
You can use any container, but shallow places like an old makeup palette are recommended. Make sure that the container has a lid.
Step 7. Smooth the surface
When you put the blush in the storage container, it will look rough. Use a spoon, knife, or spatula to level the surface until it looks like store-bought blush. Your blush may remain while doing this process. You can put the leftovers in another container to make a new blush or throw it away right away.
Press blush. If the surface of the blush is still uneven and damp, you can place a tissue on top of the blush and press it down with a firm, soft object, such as a spice bottle or wooden block
Step 8. Wait for the blush to dry
Place the blush in a warm, dry, and sunny place. Open the lid and leave it for 24 hours. After this, the blush will dry and be ready to use. Remember that the amount of water you use when making the blush will determine the drying time.
Step 9. Use blush
You can use it the same as you would with regular blush, using a brush or sponge. Make sure you close the blush holder when not in use.
Method 2 of 4: Making Powder Blusher
Step 1. Try to make a powder blush
This blush is similar to the powder blushes found in stores, but at a very affordable price. You can apply it using a brush or powder cotton.
Step 2. Prepare a container for mixing
You will need a container to mix all the ingredients. Since very few ingredients are needed, you can use a small bowl or cup.
Step 3. Pour the beetroot powder or hibiscus powder into the container
You will need half a teaspoon of beetroot powder or hibiscus powder. Pour in the powder using a sieve and break up any remaining lumps with a fork. If your blush is still lumpy, you can grind it with a coffee grinder or a grinder.
- If the beetroot powder you are using is in capsule form, open the capsule and pour out the contents, then discard the capsule. Keep doing this until you get the desired amount of beetroot powder.
- You can also use dried strawberries or raspberries. Be sure to grind it finely with a coffee grinder or a grinder before using it.
Step 4. Add arrowroot powder and mix
You need half a teaspoon of arrowroot powder. Mix all ingredients evenly using a fork. You can also transfer ingredients using a sieve. The sieve will mix the ingredients and make them smooth, and keep the ingredients free of lumps.
If you don't have arrowroot powder, you can use cornstarch
Step 5. Adjust the dose
If your blush is too dark, you can add arrowroot powder. If it's too dark, you can darken it using cocoa powder. Make sure to mix everything evenly.
Step 6. Try adding shimmer
You can make shimmer by using ginger powder or nutmeg powder. You can also use mica powder. Do not forget to re-mix all the ingredients until smooth.
- Powdered ginger will give a light shimmer color.
- Powdered nutmeg will give a dark shimmer color.
Step 7. Add essential oil
Essential oils are not the main ingredient, but they will help the powder adhere to your face. This oil will also give a nice fragrance. Add one to two drops of essential oil and mix with a fork. Keep in mind that this step may make your blush clump.
Use floral or sweet scents like chamomile, lavender, rose, or vanilla
Step 8. Decorate the blush container
You can leave the blush container as is or decorate it with beads. You can also create a label on the container.
Method 3 of 4: Making Cream Blusher
Step 1. Try making a cream blush
Cream blush does not always contain harmful chemicals. By making your own blush cream, you can decide what ingredients it contains, and you can even customize the color as you wish. This section will teach you how to make your own cream blush. You can apply it using your fingers or a sponge.
Step 2. Remove the team pan
Fill the bottom of the pot with one to two inches of water and place the top of the kettle on. Heat the kettle over medium heat.
If you don't have a team pot, you can make your own by filling a large saucepan with one to two inches of water and placing a large bowl on top. The bottom of the bowl should not touch the surface of the water in the pan
Step 3. Measure out the shea butter and wax emulsifier, then add to the team pot
You will need a teaspoon of shea butter and half a teaspoon of wax emulsifier. Place both ingredients in the top boiler.
Step 4. Melt the shea butter and wax
Heat both ingredients until melted. Be sure to stir it in with a spoon or spatula. This will allow the ingredients to mix and melt evenly.
Step 5. Remove the team pot from the stove
When the shea butter and wax emulsifier have thoroughly mixed, turn off the heat and transfer the team pan to a heatproof surface. The mixture of ingredients will look clear and not lumpy.
Step 6. Add aloe vera gel and mix until smooth
When the mixture cools a little, measure out a tablespoon of aloe vera gel and mix it into the ingredients. Stir using a spatula. Use aloe vera gel which is colorless.
Step 7. Add mica powder and cocoa powder little by little
Add the mica powder and cocoa powder a little at a time until you get the color you want. You can use mica powder in any color, but pinks and reds will give a natural finish. The cocoa powder will help darken the blush. If you want a lighter blush, use a little cocoa powder. You will need half a teaspoon of cocoa powder and mica, depending on your taste.
Try dipping a spoon into the mixture, letting it cool and lifting it up to level with your cheek to see the color
Step 8. Transfer the mixture to a small jar and let it harden
When you get the color you want, transfer the mixture into a small bowl using a spoon or spatula. Place the container in a cool place until the blush hardens, then close the lid tightly.
Wait 24 hours before applying the blush to allow the blush to harden
Step 9. Decorate the blush container
You can leave the blush container as is or decorate it by labeling the container or attaching beads.
Method 4 of 4: Creating a Simple Blusher
Step 1. Make a simple blush using beetroot, olive oil and honey
You will need a peeled and chopped beet, four tablespoons of olive oil, and two tablespoons of honey. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Transfer to a small container with a lid and store in the refrigerator. The blush will last for a month.
You can also freeze blush. The blush can last for two months
Step 2. Try making a simple blush
Sometimes you don't have some of the ingredients you need, or you just don't have enough time to melt the butter and wax. For cases like this, try adding one to two teaspoons of mineral powder with a tablespoon of moisturizer and put it in a container.
Step 3. Make a cream blush using lipstick
You can also use lipstick and coconut oil to make a cream blush. Melt the lipstick in the microwave for 15 to 30 seconds or using a spoon placed over a lit candle. Mix the melted lipstick with the coconut oil and transfer it to a sealable container. Wait for the mixture to cool and harden before using.
Tips
- If you want to apply blush immediately, mix food coloring with baby powder (without water).
- You can also use food powders other than beets, such as strawberries and raspberries.
- Decorate the blush storage case for a personal touch.
- Make some powder blush or cream blush. You can gift it to a friend.
Warning
- If you are allergic to peanuts, don't use peanut butter.
- If you use essential oils, make sure that you don't have an allergic reaction to the product. You can do an allergy test by applying oil to the inside of your elbow and waiting 24 hours to see if your skin has an allergic reaction.
