The Bingo card game can be customized to suit a wide variety of situations. These games are commonly used as teaching training tools, group activities, and even as a way to raise funds for organizations. Once you know how to make Bingo cards, the options for this card game are endless. Luckily this process is easy and fun, whether you're going to be using a computer or doing it manually.

Method 1 of 3: Using a Bingo Card Generator
Step 1. Find a Bingo card generator
Some of the well-known sites for creating Bingo cards are OSRIC, Print-Bingo, and Bingobaker. Please use the site that you think is best. Some sites require you to register for an account and charge a membership fee. However, there are also many sites that allow you to use a Bingo card generator for free and without entering any personal information.
Step 2. Decide what kind of information you want to place in each Bingo box
There are special generators that can create Bingo cards with pictures, while others only accept text typed from the keyboard.
Step 3. Type in the title of the card and the words to use
The first box that will appear in the generator will likely be " Card Title ". Click the text box and type in the name of the card you want. You can simply write “My Bingo Card” or “Family Bingo Tournament”.
- After you type in the name, next there is a box titled something like "Word List". Click the box and type in a list of words/numbers/symbols. Each word/number/symbol must be separated by a comma. The Bingo card generator will shuffle these words/numbers/symbols and put them into each box.
- For example: “clothes, books, birds, turtles, antelope, hippos, dogs, bears, lions, etc.” You can also do the same with numbers (3, 5, 17, 24, 56, 78, ….etc.) and/or symbols ($, &, *, %, @, ….etc.).
- If you want, you can also make combinations of words, numbers, and symbols. For example: “clothes, birds, 67, %, &, 76, 48, #, bears, lions, ….etc.”
Step 4. Decide whether you want to leave the box blank
Usually, in most traditional Bingo there is a “Free Space” where players can place their chips before playing. The Bingo card generator will ask if you want free space on the card. You can simply click “Yes” (yes) or “No” (no).
- The generator will then ask you to fill in the text in the blank space. You can fill in anything, like "Empty Box" or something else. You can use letters, symbols, and/or numbers to fill in the text.
- After that, determine where the free space will be. Usually you have two choices, namely “Center” (middle) or “Random” (random). Usually, this empty box is placed in the middle of the Bingo card.
Step 5. Determine the card size
Bingo cards are usually 5 X 5 squares. However, you can increase/decrease them based on the number of words you have, the type of game being played, etc. If you want, you can even make a Bingo card with a flat rectangle instead of a standard square.
- The generator will ask you to write down the number of squares the Bingo card length will have. Click on the box and enter the number.
- The generator will ask you to write down the number of squares the Bingo card width will have. Click on the box and enter the number.
- Multiply these numbers. It should have the same number of words as the result of this multiplication (assuming there are no empty squares). Otherwise you will need to adjust the numbers in the Bingo card square, or add/subtract words from the list.
Step 6. Print the Bingo card
The generator will first ask you to write down the number of cards to be printed. Just click the box and enter a number. Then, click "Generate Bingo Cards." The generator will be connected to the printer. When the computer opens the print page (print), make sure you change the position of the paper to " Landscape Style " (lay down).
- Since Bingo cards will wear out as they wear, it's a good idea to print the cards on thick cardstock paper instead of regular HVS paper.
- Consider laminating paper. Printing shops usually also offer lamination services. Try to find the one closest to your location.
Method 2 of 3: Using Computer Programs
Step 1. Select a computer software program
You need to select a program that will allow you to create " Tables " (tables) and enter the desired information. Some computer programs that are suitable for creating Bingo cards are Microsoft Word, Print Shop, and Google Docs. The first two programs are usually the default computer. If you're using a Mac, try using Google Docs or another text-processing program.
Step 2. Create a new blank document
Look for the “Create” button, “New Document “or a variation of both. Otherwise, go to " File " (file). Some variations of the term will be listed here. Then you add the table to this new blank document. First, click "Insert" and then "Table" from the drop-down menu. A standard blank table will appear in the document.
Step 3. Adjust the table
Determine how to move the table according to the size of the Bingo card that will be made. After the table appears in the blank document, a dialog box will appear on the screen. Enter the number of columns you want according to the width of the page, and the number of rows according to the length of the page. You can click and drag the sides of the table to increase the text space.
Step 4. Enter the desired information into each box
Click one box at a time. Write one term in each box. Tribes can be in the form of letters, words, symbols, and/or pictures. You can also include an "Empty Square" and place it anywhere on the card (usually in the middle) and give it the title you want.
Step 5. Print the card
Click "File" then "Print" from the drop-down menu. Change the printer setting to " Landscape Style." Bingo cards should be printed on heavy paper instead of plain paper. Make sure the Bingo card is only printed once because in the next step you will change the words on it.
Step 6. Change the order of the tribes
Go back to the original table and change the terms. Click and highlight the tribe, then click the " Cut " or " Copy " option. Move the tribe to another square. Use preprinted cards to make sure each tribe doesn't appear more than once.
Step 7. Print a new card after each change
Keep changing the scoring order until you have enough cards for each player. You can print some extra cards in case one is missing. Consider laminating the card at a printing press to make the card last longer.
Method 3 of 3: Making Bingo Cards Manually
Step 1. Draw a big square
Do this on a piece of cardstock paper. Use a ruler to make straight lines. We recommend that you have determined the number of rows/columns before drawing so that the division is easier. For example, we recommend drawing a 25 cm line if you want to have 5 columns. This way, you can easily divide it into columns (5 cm wide each) If the line size is 4.5 cm, and you want to have 5 columns, the division will be difficult.
In the traditional game of Bingo, the top and bottom lines are the same length. However, this is only if you are planning on making traditional Bingo cards
Step 2. Divide the large rectangle
On the top and bottom lines, make small marks with a pencil where each column line will be. Connect the marks on the top and bottom lines into a straight line using a ruler. After that, make similar marks on the right and left end lines, where each line will be. Connect these marks with straight lines using a ruler.
Step 3. Fill in the square boxes
You can enter a term for each square, for example "dog", "cat", etc. You can also enter numbers such as 56, 76, 87, etc. If you want, you can insert an image into the tribe.
- Example: If you are making a Bingo card for a Spanish class, enter the language words on the Bingo card. Then, say the Indonesian word, and students have to match the Indonesian to Spanish word on the Bingo card.
- You can also decorate cards. Give the Bingo card a title. Also draw the design around the Bingo square. Please channel your creativity.
Step 4. Repeat the previous step
Do this until you have enough cards for the number of players. On each card, the order of the words in each square must be different. No two players can have the same card. If you're only using the square portion of each sheet of cardstock, feel free to cut it out with scissors. If the outside of the square is embellished, don't cut your card.
Tips
- Cards will last longer if they are printed on thick paper, such as cardstock, and laminated with plastic.
- You can use cards that are smaller or larger than a 5 x 5 square by not mentioning the letters of the word Bingo with your tribe. Just have players search the entire board instead of just one column.
