If you're not happy with your breast size, there's no need to try hormone pills or breast augmentation surgery to feel more comfortable with your own body. The right bra or clothing can make small breasts appear bigger. If you're still not satisfied, do muscle toning and posture-correcting exercises to increase your chest size. When all else fails, take advantage of cosmetics and contouring to accentuate your chest so that it appears bigger than it really is.
Step
Method 1 of 4: Choosing the Right Bra
Step 1. Measure your body in order to be able to choose the size the right bra.
A tight bra can make your chest look bigger than a bra that doesn't fit. Measure the circumference under the chest following the ribs to find the size of the bra tire. For bust size, measure the bust at the fullest part.
Subtract the bust circumference by the tire size, and check the bra size chart in force in your country
Step 2. Choose a seamed bra (bra with fine stitching) for everyday use, not a contour bra
Although firmer, the contour bra puts the bust under the cup and looks small. Choose a seamed bra to create a natural and safer shape and size.
- The shape of the contour bra doesn't change when not in use, while the seamed bra is made of stretchy material that adapts to the shape of the bust.
- If you choose a contour bra, make sure it's the right size so your breasts don't appear smaller.
Step 3. Wear a wire bra to create a bigger and attractive breast shape
In addition to increasing the size, underwire bras can also lift the breasts. This type of bra supports the breast so that it remains comfortable, while creating a natural shape. Some types of underwire bras are strapless bras, demi-bras, and low plunge bras.
Underwire bras may be uncomfortable for women with pear-shaped bodies or protruding ribs because the wires sometimes stretch and puncture the skin. If you're in pain, try wearing a seamed bra or push-up bra
Step 4. Purchase a push-up bra with crescent-shaped foam
The crescent-shaped foam can push the breast tissue toward the center to create a firmer cleavage. Look for push-up bras with stretch-to-fit cups that fit perfectly to your breasts.
You can also use sports bras and bikini tops that use foam to create larger breasts when swimming or exercising
Step 5. Check your bra every three or four months
An old and worn bra can't support your breasts like a new bra. Especially Spandex, which tends to change shape with frequent use. To check the fit of a bra, put it on and look at its side profile in the mirror. If your nipples don't lift, but point downwards, you need a new bra.
Method 2 of 4: Wearing Outfits That Accentuate Your Body
Step 1. Choose clothes that fit well to create the illusion of an hourglass figure
By making your waist appear smaller, your body looks hourglass and your breasts appear bigger. Choose high-waisted or tight-fitting clothes at the waist. Add a belt to emphasize the impression of a small waist.
Step 2. Wear clothes with horizontal stripes
Horizontal lines make the chest look wider and the breasts look bigger. Thick lines have a stronger effect than thin lines. Balance the horizontal striped top with a plain skirt or trousers to accentuate the bust area.
Some people think that the horizontal line does not match their body shape. So, consider a ruffled top that adds volume to the chest area without making the entire upper body bigger
Step 3. Choose an accessory to wear on the chest
Make the chest area the focal point of the outfit. Use a necklace, brooch, or pendant to draw attention to your chest. Short necklaces with large pendants can create the illusion of full breasts.
Step 4. Try wearing shapewear to increase your bust size
Shapewear can make your chest look bigger while improving your body's natural shape. Shapewear with a built-in bra is an ideal choice for increasing bust size. Buy shapewear directly to make sure you get the right size.
Avoid shapewear that is too big. Loose shapewear can create wrinkles under clothing
Method 3 of 4: Exercise and Improve Posture
Step 1. Straighten your back
A stooped posture will make your breasts look smaller than they really are. If you tend to slouch or move your shoulders forward when sitting or standing, try to straighten your shoulders and stand up straight. Try practicing postures so that your back is straight and your chest looks bigger.
Step 2. Do push ups to strengthen the chest area
Contrary to popular belief, larger chest muscles will not reduce breast size, but enlarge them. Do push ups every day to build chest muscles. Place your palms on the floor, with your arms and legs shoulder-width apart. Bend your elbows, then lift your arms up. Repeat until you feel quite satisfied. Start with 5–10 push ups, and increase gradually.
- If you can't do push ups on your toes, try touching your knees to the floor using the same technique.
- Try a wall push up by following the same technique, but facing a wall.
Step 3. Use a medicine ball to enlarge the chest muscles
Lie down with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Hold the medicine ball above your chest, then throw it as high as you can. Catch the ball with your arms straight, then lower your arms back down, and repeat.
Step 4. Perform a bench press exercise with dumbbells or a barbell
Weight training that focuses on the chest can make your breasts appear bigger. Start with barbell exercises that are easier for beginners to do. Then, continue with the dumbbell press as you become more experienced with weight training.
Step 5. Do the exercises regularly for at least a month to see the results
Building muscle takes time, and you may need to train for 4–6 weeks before you can see changes. If you don't see significant results after that time period, increase the duration or intensity of the workout.
Vary your exercise routine every 6–12 weeks to keep your body adapting to exercise and changes
Method 4 of 4: Contouring the Chest
Step 1. Find a contour brush
Medium sized flat brush ideal for applying contour. Round powder brushes don't blend contours well, and don't give enough control to contouring. Small eyeshadow brushes are also not ideal because the end result is a line.
Step 2. Choose a matte bronzer
The contour technique creates a shadow on the chest that makes the breasts appear larger. Look for a bronzer that is a shade or two darker than your skin tone. Darker colors make the contours look more natural and the application is easy to control.
- Test the bronzer on the hand before applying to the skin of the chest to make sure the color is right.
- Pair bronzer with a slightly glossy highlighter.
Step 3. Form a contour at the top of the bust
Apply bronzer in a V shape above and across the cleavage. Then, brush the highlighter over the bust and around the V shape. Applications like this create the illusion of larger and fuller breasts.
Step 4. Blend the bronzer with a brush
Use a brush to remove flakes of bronzer and highlighter, and blend until they appear smooth. Take a look at the contour you just created in the mirror to make sure no bronzer lines are still clearly visible.
Reflect in a room with natural light to see the results accurately
Tips
- Breasts continue to develop into your 20s. If you are a teenager, breast growth has not stopped. You can estimate how big it will be after reaching maximum growth by looking at the breasts of the women in your family.
- Wearing two bras at the same time can make your chest look bigger. Choose a smaller bra to wear first, then layer it up with a larger bra.
- The tan lines after sunbathing can define the shape of the bust and create the illusion of being bigger.
