Read the instructions for making these 3 kinds of dog biscuits, the classic bone biscuit, meat biscuit and birthday cake for dogs.
Ingredients
Classic bone biscuits
- 3/4 cup chicken or beef stock
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup milk powder
- 1 egg
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
Meat Biscuits
- 340 grams of beef, chicken or pork, finely ground
- 1 cup wheat germ
- 2 cups milk powder
Dog Birthday Cake
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup ground nuts
- 1 cup melted cheese
Step
Method 1 of 3: Classic Bone Biscuits
Step 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Step 2. Mix the ingredients
Pour the chicken stock, oil, powdered milk, eggs and flour in a large bowl. Use a spoon to stir the ingredients until they are completely combined.
Step 3. Knead the dough
Use your hands to knead until the dough is firm and malleable. Place on a floured surface.
Step 4. Roll out the dough
Use a roller to achieve the thickness you want. For large dogs, make a thick dough, about 3/4 inch, and for small dogs, about 1/4 inch.
Step 5. Cut the dough
Use a bone-shaped mold to form the dough. Place the bone-bone biscuits on the greased parchment paper.
- Once you've made as many bone-bone biscuits as you can, collect the remaining dough pieces, knead and form into a ball, then flatten again with a rolling pin. Cut again with the mold earlier.
- If you don't have a bone cutting mold, just use a different shape for your dog biscuit. Choose a holiday-themed shape, like a Christmas tree, or snow, or a classic shape like a toy car, a star or a circle.
Step 6. Bake the biscuits
Place the dough on the parchment paper in the oven for about 50 minutes. Check periodically, do not burn.
- If the biscuits brown quickly, lower the oven temperature to 300 degrees.
- If the color of the old biscuits changes, increase the oven temperature to 350 degrees.
Step 7. Remove the biscuits from the oven
These biscuits will be hard and crunchy, just like dogs love. Cool the biscuits and store in an airtight box.
Method 2 of 3: Meat Biscuits
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Step 2. Mix the dough
Pour ground beef, wheat germ and powdered milk into a bowl. Use a spoon to mix the mixture until it is completely combined and solid.
- If the dough is too runny, add 1/2 cup flour and mix until smooth.
- If you know your dog likes a certain flavor, try mixing them all together. Use sticks of vegetables that your dog likes, or add a little bacon for a more intense taste.
Step 3. Flatten this meat dough
Place on a floured surface. Use your fingers or the back of a spoon to flatten them into a pancake-like shape. Flatten to 1/2 inch thickness.
Step 4. Cut this meat dough
Use a cookie cutter or use the rim of a glass to shape this mixture into a biscuit shape. Place it on the greased paper. If you have leftover dough, collect it, shape it into a ball and flatten it again, cutting it again using the mold.
Step 5. Bake these biscuits
Place the dough on the parchment paper in the oven and bake for 15 minutes, until the edges are brown. Check periodically, do not burn.
Step 6. Remove the biscuits from the oven
Cool, then serve immediately, or store in the refrigerator to eat again another time.
Method 3 of 3: Dog Birthday Cake
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Step 2. Mix the ingredients
Pour the flour, baking soda, peanut butter, oil, eggs, honey and nuts into a large bowl. Use a spoon to stir this mixture until it is perfect.
- If your dog likes vanilla and other sweets, add a teaspoon of vanilla and a teaspoon of sugar to the mixture and mix until smooth.
- If your dog likes carrots, add 1/2 cup of grated carrots to the mixture.
Step 3. Pour the dough into a cake tray that has been smeared with oil, then smooth the surface of the dough so that the cake will cook evenly
Step 4. Bake the cake
Place the tray in the oven for 40 minutes, or until the top of the dough is lightly browned.
- Check the cake to make sure it is perfectly cooked by sticking a toothpick into the center. If the toothpick is clean when you remove it, it means the cake is perfectly cooked. If there is still dough, bake for another 10 minutes.
- Once cooked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool.
Step 5. Decorate the cake
When the cake has cooled, turn it over and place it on a plate or dog food tray. Scoop out the melted cheese and pour it over the cake and smooth it out with a spoon.
- If your dog doesn't like cheese, you can decorate the cake with cream or ground banana.
- Do not decorate the cake with ordinary cake decorations, because it is dangerous for the dog's stomach..
Step 6. Serve the cake
Serve it whole and let your dog devour it, or cut some and keep the rest.
Tips
- The ASPCA does not recommend onions and garlic powder for dogs, as they can irritate digestion and cause inflammation.
- If your dog likes cheese, melt two sticks of cheese in a bowl and pour over the biscuits, and bake as usual.
