Groupon is a sales website that provides printable or digital coupons for daily deals provided by nearby businesses. On the Groupon site, sellers of goods from various types of markets around the world can open an online shop (online) and submit information about their daily offers through this site. This article will teach you how to create an ad on Groupon.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Registering
Step 1. Visit the Groupon Works website
Unlike the standard Groupon page which contains deals specifically aimed at customers, Groupon Works is designed for merchandisers.
Look at the statements of other users and understand how Groupon can help your business
Step 2. Click the Apply Now button
It's on the far right of the Groupon Works menu bar.
Step 3. Fill in the registration form
There is a short form that you must fill out to introduce your company to Groupon. Here are the sections in the form:
- Personal information (personal information). This section should include information about the person from your company who can be contacted from the Groupon sales and marketing team. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.
- Business information (business information). This is just your basic contact information. And again, fields that have an asterisk are mandatory.
- Business details (business details). This section can be filled quite flexibly. The first menu is about an extensive overview of the business industry you wish to register.
- Business details, extended (expansion of business details). Depending on your choice in the first menu, an additional menu will appear to fill in more specific information about your business. For this example, we chose Service as the main business, resulting in the following second menu:
- The final section, "how can we help", should be completed by informing Groupon's sales and marketing team of the most suitable offer to meet your goals and efforts.
- When you are satisfied with the completed form and match your business and goals, click the Submit button located at the bottom of the page. The automatically executed Groupon response page will appear after that.
Step 4. Wait for a call from Groupon
You will be contacted by Groupon within 2 weeks to verify your account information and discuss the next steps for getting your business into Groupon!
Method 2 of 2: Bid Types
Step 1. Determine the type of bid that's right for you
Groupon starts by providing a daily offer that will activate if the number of buyers has reached a certain point. Groupon found that endpoints were always achievable, so they removed the requirement. Groupon's bidding system that used to use a 1 bid per day approach has been developed. Here's an overview of Groupon's offerings.
Step 2. The Featured Deal. This offer is the traditional offer that made Groupon famous. The way it works is as follows:
- Consult with a Groupon representative. Work with a Groupon representative to create an offer that meets your business needs.
- Make a plan. Make a plan that will be implemented to help your employees deal with the onslaught of new customers.
- Launch bid. Your bid will be displayed for one day on the main Groupon website. The main website page in question is the page that can be seen by everyone who lives around you and has subscribed to Groupon.
- Connect with buyers. Customers will buy your offer and get a coupon. After that, the customer will bring the coupon to you to get and enjoy the offer you provide.
- Redeem coupon code. For this offer, you need to enter the coupon code brought by the customer, then enter it manually into the seller's data center or record it for later entry.
- Receive payment. According to Groupon's rules, most business partners will be paid in installments of 1/3-33% after 7 to 10 days, 33% after 1 month, and 34% after 2 months.
- Visit the What It Looks Like page for a breakdown of each offer section available within Groupon.
Step 3. Take advantage of the Groupon Now app
Groupon Now is an on-demand service (a service that utilizes cloud technology) that fulfills customer needs by exploring nearby areas to provide offers. Groupon Now relies heavily on mobile apps.
- Review the steps above for The Featured Deal. The most noticeable difference is how the bid is launched. Not only do they appear on the Groupon website, the offers made will be displayed in the smartphone mobile application of users who have the potential to be attracted to the offer. Unlike physical coupons that customers print and carry when using the Featured Deal offer, coupons from Groupon Now will be on the phone.
- Visit the What It Looks Like page to see the bid structure inside the smartphone.
Step 4. Try the Groupon Rewards program
This program offers prizes to the best customers selected based on your requirements. Groupon provides analytics tools that can help you monitor the success of your Groupon marketing efforts, see your best customers and the amount of money they have spent.
Step 5. Look at other offers
Groupon has special offers for live music play, holidays, national brands and more. A representative from Groupon can assist in making the right choice for your business.
Tips
-
While there are no immediate costs to start advertising your products on Groupon or other offer promotion sites in general, the profits you earn will be significantly reduced for sales made using coupons. Instead of seeing it as a disservice, assume that the cost is spent on advertising and marketing, which makes sense. Consider this: if you buy advertising in a local newspaper, radio, or TV station, you'll be spending a certain amount of money-whether other people see it or not.
The number of people who see advertisements in this form is very difficult to monitor. You may see a 10% increase after your ad has been on for a week, but it's a big expense. On the other hand, if you get a 10% increase from customers using Groupon coupons, you can know for sure how effective your ads are, and customers will also help you pay for some of your advertising costs.
