When you visit websites like Google, Yahoo, or wikiHow, you may see a small icon to the left of the address bar. This icon is known as a favicon, and you can create one for your own website. In addition to giving the site a professional look, this icon will appear in the user's bookmarks segment, next to the sites they mark as favorite sites. This way, users can find your site more easily.

Step 1. Create an image with a size of 16 x 16 pixels
Use simple images that are easy to identify.
Step 2. Convert the image to a “favicon.ico” file
The file must be named that way for the browser to recognize it. The easiest way to do this is to use the Dynamic Drive FavIcon Generator service. You can also use the free image editing program GIMP and save the image with a resolution of 16 x 16 pixels in the ICO format.
Step 3. Upload the created file to the website
Step 4. Add the following code to the HTML of the website
You need to add it to the code segment and make sure the icon directory address is correct, as per the web page. Here's the code you'll need to enter (assuming both the.html and.ico files are in the same top/main directory):

- Even though they are very small in size, make sure that people can easily read or understand the icons used.
