Method 1 of 6: Removing AVG on Windows 10
Step 1. Restart the computer
AVG recommends restarting the computer before performing the installation so that there are no more administrative tasks running in the background.
If you installed the Web TuneUp, AVG Toolbar, or Secure Search extension on Google Chrome, take a look at these methods to remove it from your browser
Step 2. Click the search icon
It's a magnifying glass or circle icon to the right of Start, which is usually in the bottom-left corner.
Step 3. Type in control panel
A list of matching search results will be displayed.
Step 4. Click Control Panel
Step 5. Click Programs and Features
If you don't see this option, click the drop-down menu in the upper-right corner of the window, then select Large Icon.
If you see a "Programs" button, click it, then select "Programs and Features" on the next page
Step 6. Right-click AVG listed in the program list
This will bring up a menu.
If you have multiple AVG applications installed, remove them all one by one
Step 7. Click Uninstall
The uninstall wizard will open.
Step 8. Remove AVG by following the on-screen instructions
After AVG is successfully uninstalled, you will need to restart your computer. Complete the uninstallation of the program by restarting the computer.

Method 2 of 6: Uninstalling AVG Cleaner on Mac Computer
Step 1. Launch Launchpad on Mac computer
It's a rocket-shaped icon in the Dock, which is usually at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2. Click and hold the AVG Cleaner icon
When the icon starts to wiggle, remove your finger from the mouse.
Step 3. Click the x on the AVG Cleaner icon
The application will be removed from the Mac computer.

Method 3 of 6: Removing AVG on Windows 8
Step 1. Press Win+X on your keyboard
This will bring up a menu.
If you installed the Web TuneUp, AVG Toolbar, or Secure Search extension on Google Chrome, take a look at these methods to remove it from your browser
Step 2. Click Programs and Features
A list of applications installed on the computer will be displayed.
Step 3. Right click AVG in the list
This will bring up a menu.
If you have multiple AVG applications installed, remove them all one by one
Step 4. Click Uninstall
The uninstall wizard will open.
Step 5. Remove AVG by following the on-screen instructions
You will need to restart the computer after AVG has been successfully uninstalled.
- If you are asked to choose between " Speed up my PC ", " Update my AVG product ", and " Uninstall AVG ", select " Uninstall AVG ".
- You may also need to uncheck the box next to " Keep AVG Security Toolbar and LinkScanner " when prompted.
Step 6. Complete the wipe by restarting the computer

Method 4 of 6: Uninstalling AVG on Windows 7, Vista and XP
Step 1. Click Start which is usually in the lower left corner
Step 2. Click Control Panel
If this option does not exist, click Settings, then click Control Panel.
Step 3. Click Add or remove programs
If this option does not exist, click Programs, then click Programs and Features.
Step 4. Right-click the AVG product you want to remove
This will bring up a menu.
If you want to remove multiple AVG products, you must delete them one by one
Step 5. Click Uninstall or Change/Remove.
The options displayed will depend on the version of Windows you are using. The AVG remover application will open.
When prompted, click Uninstall in the installation options.
Step 6. Click Uninstall AVG or Uninstall.
Some additional options for deleting the app will be shown.
Step 7. Determine whether the add-on is retained or not
If you also want to remove add-ons (such as LinkScanner or AVG Security Toolbar), uncheck each box.
If prompted, uncheck the boxes next to "Remove user settings" and "Remove Virus Vault contents"
Step 8. Remove AVG by following the on-screen instructions
After AVG is successfully uninstalled, you will need to restart the computer. Complete the uninstallation of the program by restarting the computer.

Method 5 of 6: Removing AVG Toolbar, Web TuneUp or Secure Search on Google Chrome
Step 1. Run Chrome on the computer
This program is usually located in the Start menu (Windows) or in the Applications folder (macOS).
Step 2. Click the menu in the upper-right corner of the Chrome window
Step 3. Click More tools
This will open several other menus.
Step 4. Click Extensions
A list of installed browser extensions will be displayed.
Step 5. Click Remove next to the AVG extension
The selected extension will be removed from the Chrome browser.
If you have installed multiple AVG extensions, click Remove in each extension you want to remove.
Step 6. Click menu again, then select Settings.
This option is at the bottom of the menu.
Step 7. Scroll down the screen to the "Search engine" section
This segment is at the bottom of the page.
Step 8. Select the desired search engine from the drop-down menu
If the AVG tool in the drop-down menu is highlighted, click on it and then select an alternative (eg Google).
Step 9. Scroll down the screen and select Open the New Tab page
This option is under the " On startup " heading at the bottom of the page.
Step 10. Restart Chrome browser
The AVG Chrome extension will definitely not show up again.
Method 6 of 6: Using AVG Remover Tool
Step 1. Launch a web browser and visit
If all methods do not remove AVG from your Windows computer, use this tool to remove it.
Step 2. Click DOWNLOAD
It's a green button in the lower-right corner of the page.
Maybe you should click Save or OK to start the download.
Step 3. Double click avgclear.exe after you download it
Step 4. Read the license and privacy agreement
Click READ NOW under each option to certify that you agree to AVG's policies.
Step 5. Click Continue under “AVG Remover”
It's on the right side of the window. This tool will scan your computer and display a list of AVG applications that can be uninstalled.
Step 6. Select the app you want to remove, then click Remove
The selected AVG application will be removed from the computer. When it's finished, you'll need to restart the computer.
Step 7. Complete the process by clicking on Restart
You may have to do this several times for all AVG applications to be completely uninstalled.
If a window appears that says "Open File – Security Warning" after restarting the computer, click Run to continue the process.
Step 8. Remove AVG Remover from computer (optional)
Once all AVG applications are removed, you can remove AVG Remover via File Explorer. Press the Win+e key, open the C: drive, right-click the folder AVG_Remover, then click Delete.
