This wikiHow teaches you how to find the SSID (Service Set Identifier) of a WiFi network, which is the name of the network your computer is connected to. If the computer is connected to a wireless network, the SSID is the name of the connected WiFi network. You can find the SSID of a network simply by opening your computer's WiFi settings and looking at the name of the network.

Method 1 of 2: On Windows Computer

Step 1. click
A window with wireless network options around the computer will appear.
- You may need to click the “ ^ ” first to see the WiFi icon.
- If you see an "x" icon next to the WiFi icon, click the icon, then select “ Wi-Fi Off ” to turn WiFi back on.

Step 2. Find the name of the network you are currently connected to
The connected network will be displayed at the top of the pop-up window. You can see the label " Connected " under the name.

Step 3. Check other available network SSIDs
You will see a list of network names in the pop-up window. Each name displayed is a specific SSID for the network in question.
Method 2 of 2: On Mac Computer

Step 1. Click
