Five Nights at Freddy's is an indie survival horror game of 2014 and many people call it one of the scariest games of the year. If you feel you have the guts, let's try to play.
Step
Step 1. Listen to the person on the phone
The person on the phone is Freddy Fazbear's Pizza security guard before you. He will provide useful and important information. Some of the information provided is that you need to check the security cameras frequently, and close the doors and turn on the lights if necessary. He will also provide background information on the restaurant itself.
- As the night progressed, people's messages on the phone would get shorter and shorter. Apply what you learn from it. The movement patterns of the animatronics will be faster than the first night.
- On the fourth night, the person on the phone had recorded his last message. Here's his final message because he's about to be attacked by an animatronic, or as many assume, a Golden Freddy (a ghost-like character that can be seen every night by staring at the monitor 2b too much).
Step 2. Save power consumption
You have a limited power supply every night. If you run out of power, Freddy can catch you. Your working time lasts 6 hours from 12 pm to 6 am so keep this in mind while conserving power. The transition from 5 to 6 can interrupt Freddy's attack if you run out of power so at least try to hold out until 5 o'clock.
Step 3. Be careful starting from the third night
While the game is still challenging on the first two nights, the animatronics will become more active on the third night. Make sure to save most of the power. You'll need it more on the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth nights.
Step 4. Understand the behavior of animatronics
There are five animatronics in the game: Bonnie the Bunny, Chica the Chicken, Foxy the Pirate Fox, Freddy Fazbear, and Golden Freddy. Bonnie and Chica came from the left and right doors, through random paths. Foxy goes to the left door and is more aggressive depending on how often you check. Freddy came to the right in one lane. Golden Freddy is summoned through the appearance of a rare poster.
Step 5. Prepare for the fifth night
No more messages on the phone so now you're alone. The animatronics will be even more active because this is the last major night, and this is where you need power the most. On the fifth night you get a strange phone call probably from Freddy. Chances are, Freddy was able to access this phone after killing the person on the line. However, do not let your attention be distracted!
Step 6. Do your best
If this is your first time playing, be prepared. Five Nights at Freddy's is indeed a bit strange and quite scary. Get ready not only for the fifth night, but also jumpscares, animatronic moves, and more!
- If you make it through the fifth night, you can play the sixth and seventh nights.
- After completing night 6, you can unlock night 7. Here, you can set the AI difficulty of the animatronics.
Tips
- You can try again if you lose; God can because it's normal. If the game is too difficult for you, try this pattern: left light, right light, check Freddy, check Foxy, close the door if needed, repeat.
- If you want, you can record your game and upload it to YouTube.
- If you don't want to be too scared, try preparing a doll before you start playing. You can hug him and bury your face if it starts to get too scary.
- You can summon Golden Freddy by switching to CAM 2B and checking if there is a Golden Freddy on the poster.
- On the first 2-3 nights, only Freddy, Foxy and Bonnie came. However, you can usually shoo Bonnie away by turning on the door light. Remember that Chica and Freddy came from the east hall, Bonnie and Foxy came from the west hall. Freddy also comes from the west hall if you run out of power.
- Use the help of sites, such as YouTube, and remember that games tend to get out of hand. Try watching FNaF videos on YouTube so you can practice. Watch funny broadcasters like Markiplier so you don't get too scared watching it.
- If you only check Pirate's Cove and the occasional Show Stage, you'll save a lot of power. While knowing Chica and Bonnie's position would help, it consumes a lot of energy.
- Read Freddy Files. Here are a lot of tips for completing all five nights. This book also has background stories and things you might not have known before.
- In the last nights, don't make Foxy run to the door. This will make him more aggressive towards you and force you to check on him more often than usual.
- *try closing the door when the animatronics are in the corner. They'll come in and startle you if you're not alert. Also, close the door and turn on the light when there are monsters in the west hall. If there's a shadow blocking the light, it means the animatronics are still there.
Warning
- Don't play this game if you don't like jumpscares, flashing lights, or loud noises.
- If you see a Golden Freddy poster and he shows up in your office, don't look at it for too long to avoid getting killed. You only have 3 seconds to pull up the monitor before he finishes your game.
- Try not to play too long or too late at night so you don't have nightmares.
- If you get a Custom Night, do not set it to 1/9/8/7. Golden Freddy will suddenly appear and finish the game.
