Apple Watch can track all of your activity so it can send more detailed fitness data to iPhone. The watch syncs data to iPhone whenever the phone is within range of the watch, and you can view fitness information in the Activity and Health apps on iPhone. Synchronization is done automatically and runs in the background, as long as both devices are within range of each other.
Step
Part 1 of 3: Starting Sync
Step 1. Pair your Apple Watch with iPhone
All you need to do to connect your Apple Watch with the Health app on iPhone is pair your watch with your phone. The Apple Watch will automatically be added to the “Sources” tab in the Health app once it's paired with the phone.
Search and read articles on how to pair Apple Watch with iPhone for more information
Step 2. Understand the process of tracking and sending health information on Apple Watch
There are three Apple apps needed to track health data on Apple Watch and iPhone. All of these apps are pre-installed on the phone and the watch. By knowing how apps and devices work, you can understand the use of the health data obtained.
- Health – This application is available on the iPhone and serves as a health data center. The Health app stores data that your Apple Watch sends, and can send data to apps that request your health data. However, Health cannot automatically record or record health data itself. This application is designed to be used in conjunction with other applications.
- Workout – This app is available on Apple Watch. The Workout app will track your exercise information and send that data to the Health and Activity apps. You need to run the Workout app at the start of your workout.
- Activity – This app is available on iPhone and Apple Watch. The Activity app tracks your activities throughout the day and calculates your progress against the goals or objectives set. Just wear your Apple Watch to record every activity you do in the Activity app. The data sent from the Workouts application can provide more detailed information on the Activity application.
Step 3. Open the Health app on iPhone
You can confirm that your watch is connected to your device by opening this app. The Health icon can be found on one of the device's home screens.
Step 4. Touch the “Sources” tab at the bottom of the screen
Your Apple Watch will appear in the “Devices” section.
Step 5. Touch Apple Watch which is displayed on the “Sources” tab
Permission to link the watch with the Health app will be displayed.
Step 6. Make sure all permissions have been granted
Slide all switches that are in the off position. This way, the Health app can collect all the data tracked or recorded by the watch.
Part 2 of 3: Recording Sports Data
Step 1. Launch the Workout app on Apple Watch
This app icon looks like a running human silhouette.
Your activity during exercise will still be recorded by the Activity app, even when you're not exercising. However, using Workout allows you to record more detailed data, and not just the number of steps and distance covered
Step 2. Determine the form of exercise performed
Choose the option that best suits your sport. Thus, the recording of sports data that you live can be done more accurately.
Turn the wheel on the left side of the watch to quickly browse through the various options
Step 3. Set goals
After selecting a sport, you will be asked to define a goal/goal. Swipe the screen left or right to switch from one option to another (eg “Calories”, “Time”, and “Distance”). Swipe the list of options to the far right if you want to exercise without setting specific goals/goals.
Step 4. Start exercising
After setting the goal, touch the “Start” button and start exercising.
Step 5. End the exercise
The workout session will end when you reach your goal/goal. You can also press and hold the clock screen to end your workout early.
Step 6. Review sports statistics
Swipe up or down the post-workout page to see detailed statistics, such as total distance, heart rate (average), calories burned, and other information.
Step 7. Touch " Save " to send the data to the Activity app
You can see a “Save” button at the bottom of the post-workout page. If not saved, the data will be deleted. However, the Activity app will still record and store some basic information, such as the number of steps you take.
Step 8. Use another sports app if you want
There are a variety of exercise apps that are compatible with the Apple Watch and can also sync with the Health app. You can download these apps from the App Store on your iPhone. Once downloaded, the app will appear on your Apple Watch. The data you get from those apps on your Apple Watch is synced to your iPhone, just like when you use Apple's built-in Workout app.
Part 3 of 3: Viewing Health Data
Step 1. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on the iPhone
Apple Watch will automatically sync data to iPhone via Bluetooth. You can turn on Bluetooth on iPhone by swiping up from the bottom of the screen and tapping the “Bluetooth” button. The Bluetooth icon will be displayed on the notification bar if it is enabled.
Step 2. Position the watch within reach of the iPhone
Apple Watch automatically syncs data to iPhone when your watch is within range of your phone. This means that you (or your watch) must be within the Bluetooth range of your phone (about 9 meters) or somewhere on the same wireless network. Exercise and activity information is stored on the watch until the watch is within range of the phone, then syncs automatically to the Health app in the background.
Step 3. Open the Activity app on the iPhone
In this app, you can view detailed activity information for the day, including information recorded by the Apple Watch. Swipe down to see all available information.
Step 4. Touch " Workouts " to view the saved exercise data
Workout data stored on Apple Watch will be displayed in the “Workouts” section for the day. Touch an entry to view its statistics. This statistic is the same as the data on the post-workout page on the Apple Watch screen.
Step 5. Open the Health app
In addition to the Activity app, Apple Watch information can also be tracked or recorded via the Health app. You can view detailed health information through this app, as well as track daily health information. The Health app also acts as a database for other health apps that you can download from the App Store.
Step 6. Touch the “Health Data” tab
Various data points recorded or tracked through the Health app will be displayed.
Step 7. Select a category to see the options in it
Each category contains various data points that can be used by various applications.
Step 8. Select the option to view detailed data
Touch an option from a category to view the data collected by the Health app. Since you're using your Apple Watch with the Workout app, try checking out some of the options under the "Fitness" category, such as "Activity", "Steps", and "Workouts".
Step 9. Add information to the Health app dashboard
When you view detailed information on a data point, you can add it to the Dashboard tab of the Health app. This way, you can easily view the most important data from the main page of the app. Slide the "Show on Dashboard" slider to the on position to display graphics on the app dashboard.
