This wikiHow teaches you how to report users, posts, or subreddits that violate Reddit's content policies.

Method 1 of 2: Reporting Users or Posts
Step 1. Visit https://www.reddit.com via a web browser
You can use any browser on your computer, including Chrome or Safari, to report Reddit content you find offensive.
Type in your login information at this point if you are not already logged into your account
Step 2. Go to the subreddit containing the offending content
You can search for the name of a subreddit or post by typing it into the search bar and pressing Enter or Return.
Step 3. Click report under the content that needs to be reported
Pages “We're sorry something's wrong. How can we help? will be shown.
Step 4. Select the appropriate reason and click Next
Determine the reason that best fits the situation.
Step 5. Answer additional questions about the content
The questions asked will depend on the reason, but you may need to enter additional text or select an option from the menu to further describe the issue at hand.
Step 6. Click Submit
Complaints will be forwarded to Reddit support staff. If content is found to be in violation of Reddit policies, support staff will take action.
Method 2 of 2: Reporting a Subreddit
Step 1. Review Reddit's content policies
Reddit site policies (accessible at https://www.reddit.com/help/contentpolicy) contains the latest Reddit rules. Before reporting a subreddit in its entirety, make sure the thread does indeed violate Reddit policies. If you feel violated, move on to the next step.
To report a post or user, and not an entire subreddit, read this method
Step 2. Visit
Step 3. Click message the admins
This option is the last option on the list.
Step 4. Click something else
Step 5. Click on Reddit's rules content breaks
Step 6. Select the reason for reporting the subreddit
A list of suggested actions will be displayed.
Step 7. Review the recommended actions
Each option has its own suggested course of action.
Step 8. Follow the prompts to contact the administrator
Choose one of the two options to complete the reporting process:
- If you have a Reddit account, click “ please send us a message ” to access the form. Fill out the entire form and make sure you include the name of the subreddit. When finished, click " send ”.
- If you don't have a Reddit account, write an email to [email protected] via an e-mail program on a computer. Make sure you include the following information: the name of the subreddit, the rule being violated, and the relevant link to substantiate the report.
