This wikiHow teaches you how to use Facebook to find people in a specific location. To be successful, the person you're looking for must display an accurate location on their profile. You can search for people by location, both on the Facebook mobile app and on the desktop site.

Method 1 of 2: On Mobile Apps
Step 1. Open Facebook
The Facebook app icon looks like a white “f” on a dark blue background. The news feed page will be opened if you are logged in to your account.
If not, enter your email address (or phone number) and password, then tap the “ Log in " ("Enter").
Step 2. Touch the search bar
This bar is at the top of the screen. The device keyboard will be displayed after that.
Step 3. Enter the username
Type in the username, then touch “ Search " ("Search").
Step 4. Touch the People tab (“People”)
It's in the top-left corner of the page. Search will be restricted so that only users are shown in search results.
Step 5. Touch the City tab (“City”)
This tab is at the bottom right of the tab People ” (“People”), at the top of the screen. A new window will open at the bottom of the screen.
Step 6. Touch the "Find a city" search bar
This bar is at the top of the new window that appears at the bottom of the screen.
Step 7. Write down the name of the city
You can see suggested entries below the search bar when you type the city name.
Step 8. Touch the desired city
The city name is displayed below the search bar.
Step 9. Touch Apply (“Select”)
It's in the upper-right corner of the " City " window, at the bottom of the screen. A list of users with the same name and living in the location you selected will be displayed.
For example: if you type "Via Vallen" as the name and select "Surabaya" as the city, Facebook will display a list of users named Via Vallen who set Surabaya as their location or place of residence
Method 2 of 2: On Desktop Site
Step 1. Open Facebook
Visit The news feed page will load immediately if you are logged in to your account.
If not, enter your email address (or phone number) and account password in the top-right corner of the page
Step 2. Click the search bar
This column is at the top of the Facebook page.
Step 3. Enter the username
Enter the username you are looking for, then press Enter. A list of Facebook users living in your city/area with matching (or similar) names will be displayed.
Step 4. Click the People tab (“People”)
This tab is below the search bar, at the top of the Facebook page.
Step 5. Click the Choose a city link
This link is on the left side of the page, under the " City " heading. Once clicked, a new search bar will open.
Step 6. Type in the name of the city
Suggested city entries will appear below the search bar when you type the city name.
Step 7. Click the city name
The name will be displayed below the search bar. The search results will be updated and show a list of users with the same name from the selected city, according to the residence information displayed on their profile.
