This wikiHow teaches you how to prevent the Facebook mobile app from accessing your geographic location. By default, your location will not be accessed when you make a Facebook post via the desktop site. In addition, you can also hide your location in the Facebook Messenger app if you want to turn off location information on all Facebook services.

Method 1 of 2: For iPhone
Step 1. Open the iPhone settings menu (“Settings”)
This menu is indicated by a gray gear icon and is usually displayed on the home screen.
Step 2. Swipe the screen and touch Facebook
This option is in the social media app group, about the bottom half of the settings page (“Settings”).
Step 3. Touch Settings
It's below the Facebook logo, at the top of the screen.
Step 4. Touch Location
It's at the top of the screen.
If you don't see this option, location services are not enabled/available for Facebook
Step 5. Touch Never
A blue check mark will be displayed on the left side of the “ never ” and indicates that Facebook can no longer access your location.
Method 2 of 2: For Android
Step 1. Open the Android settings menu (“Settings”)
This menu is indicated by a gear icon and is displayed on the device's application page.
Step 2. Swipe the screen and touch Apps
It's in the lower half of the settings page (“Settings”).
On some Android devices, touch “ Device manager "first to access options" Apps ”.
Step 3. Touch App settings
This option may be labeled “ App configurations ”.
Step 4. Touch App permissions
It's at the top of the page.
Step 5. Touch Your location
You may need to scroll through the screen first to see this option.
Step 6. Scroll to Facebook option and slide switch
to the left.
This switch is to the right of the “ Facebook After sliding to the left, the switch color will change to white
. Location services are now disabled for Android devices.
