This wikiHow teaches you how to find a friend's location using the “Live Location” feature of Facebook Messenger.

Step 1. Open Facebook Messenger
This app is marked by a blue speech bubble icon with a white lightning bolt inside. You can find this icon on your home screen or page/app drawer.
Step 2. Select the friend you want to search for
The conversation with the friend in question will be displayed.
Step 3. Enable “Live Location” feature
To follow this method, you and the friend in question must share your location with each other. Follow these steps to share your location:
- Touch the blue arrowhead icon. If you don't see it, tap the three-dot icon in the square that appears in the lower-right corner of the screen, then tap “ Location ”.
- Touch the submit button (blue and white arrow) next to the “Current Location” option. Your current location will be displayed in the chat window.
Step 4. Touch the map your friend sent you
When your friend shares their location, their map will be displayed in the chat window. Touch the map to see its location marked by a red pin.
- You can also see your own location on a friend's map marked by a blue circle.
- To open a friend's location in the Google Maps app, tap the right-pointing arrow icon below the map, select “ Maps, and select " Always " Now, you can see a more detailed map, as well as directions to your friend's location.
