This wikiHow teaches you how to follow other users on Facebook. By following someone, their status updates will be prioritized on your news feed page.

Method 1 of 2: Via Facebook Mobile App
Step 1. Open Facebook
This app is marked by a dark blue icon with a white “f” on it. The news feed page will be displayed if you are already logged in to your account.
If not, enter your email address (or phone number) and account password before continuing
Step 2. Go to the page you want to follow
Type the name of the user you want to follow into the search bar at the top of the screen, then tap their name once it appears in the drop-down menu to visit their profile page.
Some people, such as celebrities and other public figures, usually have a "Follow" button on their page
Step 3. Touch Follow
It's below the username, at the top of the page. Once touched, your account will follow the corresponding profile page.
Step 4. Touch the Follow button again to change the settings
You can change the form of notifications you get when you follow someone by selecting one of the following options:
- “ Default ” (“Default”) – You can see updates from users/pages in the news feed.
- ” See First ” (“See First”) – Updates from users/pages will be shown on the top line of the newsfeed when they become available.
- ” Unfollow ” (“Unfollow”) – You will unfollow the user/page in question.
Method 2 of 2: Via Facebook Desktop Site
Step 1. Visit the Facebook website
Go to https://www.facebook.com in your preferred browser. The news feed page will load if you are logged in to your account.
If not, enter your email address (or phone number) and account password before continuing
Step 2. Go to the page you want to follow
Type the user or page name into the search bar at the top of the news feed page, then click the user's profile photo to access their profile page.
Step 3. Click Follow
It's in the lower-left corner of the cover photo. After that, your account will immediately follow that user's page.
Step 4. Click the Follow button again to change the settings
A drop-down menu will appear with the following options:
- ” Unfollow This Page ” (“Unfollow This Page”) – You will unfollow the user/page in question.
- ” See First ” (“See First”) – You can see updates from that user/page in the top line of the newsfeed as they become available.
- ” Default ” – You can view updates from users/pages in the news feed as usual (without any particular priority).
- ” Unfollow ” (“Unfollow”) – You will unfollow the user/page in question.
Tips
- The most popular and well-known public figures and organizations such as celebrities, politicians and certain businesses usually have a “Follow” button on their Facebook page. Stay abreast of the latest news and updates from your favorite users by searching their profiles and following them on Facebook.
- All users who are friends with you on Facebook will automatically follow you. On the other hand, you will also follow the users who were added as friends.
