Method 1 of 3: Performing a Simple Disappearing Trick
Step 1. Make the coins disappear
This easy trick makes it seem as if you're moving a coin from your right hand to your left, then making it disappear with your right. In fact, you've kept the coin in your left hand from the start while tricking the audience into thinking you've moved the coin. Here's how.
- Hold the coin between the thumb and two fingers on the left hand.
- Move your right hand toward your left, as if picking up a coin with your three middle fingers, but actually "dropping" it into your left hand.
- Pretend to hold the coin between the index finger and thumb of your right hand.
- Blow the “coin” and open your now empty right hand.
- Move your left hand toward your elbow and show the coin so that it looks as if the coin moved there when you removed it.
Step 2. Remove the card
This simple trick is called the “throw away” card trick. For this trick, you need to place the card in your hand, flick it, and make it look as if the card in your hand has disappeared. Here's how:
- Hold the card by raising the index and pinky fingers with the other three fingers touching each other, in a "metal" gesture.
- Place the card so that the last 2.5 cm is tucked into the area between your middle, ring and thumb fingers.
- Gently flick your fingers and straighten your hand. The card will be clipped between the first and second fingers, and the third and fourth fingers so that the card seems to disappear. Just make sure your palms are facing the audience and don't let the backs of your hands show.
- If you are already skilled, feel free to practice returning cards and eliminating them again.
Step 3. Remove the pencil
You just need a pencil and wear a loose-fitting, long-sleeved shirt. This simple trick is done by holding the edge of the pencil with both hands and making it seem to disappear in midair. In fact, you'll flick the pencil down the side of one arm and then work it down the sleeve. Here's how:
- Grasp the edge of the pencil with your thumb, index, and middle fingers, turning your hands so that the backs of your hands are facing the viewer.
- Apply slight pressure to the pencil with the fingers of your right hand so that the pencil bends slightly towards the inside of your right wrist.
- Slightly raise and lower your hands to make a movement.
- Make it look like you're snapping your fingers on your left hand, moving the pencil so that it rests along your right wrist.
- Silently move the pencil to the sleeve of the right hand so that the pencil seems to disappear.
- The faster your moves, the more convincing magic tricks will appear.
Method 2 of 3: Mind Reading
Step 1. Guess the magic number
This simple trick is done by having volunteers do simple math that leads them to almost always the same answer. Here's what you would say to the audience:
- Think of any number.
- Multiply by 2.
- Add the total by 8.
- Share by 2.
- Subtract the total from your starting number.
- Don't forget this new number. This is your secret number.
- Count the alphabet until you get the letter according to your secret number. (Number 1 is A, Number 2 is B, and so on).
- Think of a European country that starts with this letter.
- Think of the second letter of the name of this country.

Think of an animal name that starts with this letter.
After the volunteer has thought of the answer, say “The number you are thinking of is 4… and a duck in Denmark!” This trick is not 100% working
Step 2. Guess the magic vegetables
This silly trick almost always works. You just need paper and pen, and some spectators. First, place a piece of paper in the left pocket that says “celery”, and place another piece of paper in the right pocket that says “carrot”. Don't forget to place these two papers, and you're ready to do the trick:
- First, pass paper and pencil to all members of the audience.
- Ask them to solve some simple math tricks, about 10 problems, for example 2x2, 10.5, 3+3, and so on. This is done to prepare the minds of the audience.
- Then say, “Quick, write down one vegetable name!” Make sure audience members write it down as quickly as possible. Don't let anyone "think" too long.
- Call one spectator at random and say the name of the vegetable he wrote down.
- If it says “celery”, pull the paper out of the left pocket that says “celery”. If the answer is "carrot", take a piece of paper that says "carrot". Tell the audience that your mind-reading power is so strong that you can predict the names of vegetables written before the trick begins
- People in the US and Canada 80-90% choose one of the two vegetables. If the person doesn't mention one of the two vegetables, that's okay. You simply proceed to the next trick. If you are in another country with different popular vegetables, try searching for your country's “magic vegetables”.
Step 3. Guess the name of the famous person
This trick is quite simple, but to master it is quite time consuming. You only need a hat, 10 spectators, a pen and a small whiteboard to write down your predictions, as well as paper for the number of spectators. Here's how:
- Ask the audience to name famous people.
- Write the first name on a piece of paper and put it in the hat.
- Ask the audience to keep saying names.
- Pretend to write down each name, when in reality you're only writing the first name over and over again. This part takes a lot of practice.
- If the hat is filled, you will predict the name that will be taken from inside the hat. Of course, you will name the first one. Write it on the blackboard so everyone can see it.
- Have the audience reach into the hat to pull the paper. Since the hat contains only the first name, your simsalabim guesses the drawn name correctly!
Method 3 of 3: Performing a Simple Card Trick
Step 1. Perform the "Appearing Ace" card trick
This quick and easy trick can be astonishing as it makes all four aces appear magically in a deck of cards.
Step 2. Perform the "Four Kings" card trick
This easy trick is done by showing that the four kings in a deck of cards always stick together.
Step 3. Find the card someone chose
This classic card trick requires you to look at the cards a volunteer has chosen silently and cut through the deck as if you had magically found the card.
Step 4. Perform the “whispering queen” trick
The “Whispering queen” is the queen of hearts. With a little effort, you can make the queen of hearts appear at the end of the trick.
Step 5. Perform the “to the top” card trick
Ask a volunteer to pick a card, place it in the center of the deck, and have it magically appear at the top of the deck
Step 6. Perform the "two cards monte" card trick
This trick tricks the spectator into thinking the two cards he is dealt magically turn into different cards.
Step 7. Perform the jumping card trick
- Prepare a deck of cards. Take two cards and combine them so that they look like one card. Do it before you do the trick.
- Only show the base of the deck to the audience. Place both cards at the top of the deck.
- Take the card at the top so it looks like you took the original card from the bottom. The original card should be at the top.
- Pretend to use mind power to take the card to the top. Show the card at the top and the audience will be blown away.
