Twitter is a social media platform where you can read and share 140-character updates with other Twitter users. If you want to read and receive updates, also known as "tweets" from other users, you must follow them first. You can find and follow Twitter users by name, or search for users who share your interests.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Following Users via Name Search
Step 1. Visit Twitter by clicking on the following link
Step 2. Enter your Twitter username and password into the box provided and click Login. "
Step 3. Enter the username you want to follow into the search box at the top of the currently displayed Twitter screen
Step 4. Click on the profile of the Twitter user you want to follow
The person's Twitter profile will be displayed on the screen.
If the profile of the person you want to follow doesn't appear in the drop-down menu, click "See all" to view profiles of other users with that name
Step 5. Click the "Follow" button located below the user profile description
You will now follow that Twitter user, and all the tweets they sent will appear on your timeline.
If there is a locked icon to the right of someone's Twitter name, it means that the user's tweet is protected. The Twitter user in question must accept your request to follow him before his tweet appears in your timeline
Method 2 of 2: Following Users by Interest
Step 1. Visit the Twitter site at
Step 2. Log into your Twitter account with your Twitter username and password
Step 3. Click "Find" at the top of your current Twitter session
Step 4. Click on "People to Follow" in the left sidebar of the Find page
Twitter will suggest users and profiles that may be of interest to you based on the types of profiles you have followed.
Step 5. Click on the "Follow" button to the right of the Twitter profile that may be of interest to you
The user's tweets will appear on your timeline from now on.
Step 6. Scroll back to the top of your Twitter session and click on "Popular accounts" in the left sidebar
Twitter will show you a list of categories, including profiles of users who have an interest in those categories.
Step 7. Click on the name of the category that interests you
For example, if you like reading novels and book reviews, click on "Books". Twitter will show a number of users who tweet about topics related to the book.
Step 8. Click the "Follow" button located to the right of each profile that may be of interest to you
After that, you will start receiving tweets from all the profiles you have followed.
Tips
- To unfollow a Twitter user at any time, click on the user's profile name, then hover over "Following", then click "Unfollow". After that, the tweets sent by that user will no longer appear on your timeline.
- When you follow someone on Twitter, remember that they won't be able to see the tweets you send unless they follow you.
