Everyone has probably experienced where when they walk and then accidentally step on a piece of gum. It's certainly not a fun thing, especially when you're wearing your new shoes. Read some of the tips below to help you remove gum marks from your shoes easily.

Method 1 of 7: Freezing Chewing Gum
Step 1. Put the shoes in the plastic
Put your chewing gum on your shoes in a plastic bag. Make sure the area where the chewing gum is affected is covered by the plastic part.
Step 2. Press the plastic onto the part of the gum
Press the plastic into the former, making sure you press firmly until the gum sticks to the plastic. If the gum doesn't stick to the plastic then this method won't work well.
Step 3. Place the shoes in the refrigerator
Put the shoes that have been wrapped in plastic earlier into the freezer of the refrigerator.
Step 4. Leave it for an hour or two
This will cause the gum to freeze and stick to the plastic. After about an hour or two, remove the shoes from the refrigerator.
Step 5. Remove the shoes from the plastic bag
Remove the shoe from the plastic bag and watch as the gum has come off your shoe by sticking to the plastic.
Method 2 of 7: Using Ice
Step 1. Fill a plastic bag with ice cubes
Place the affected part of the gum on the ice cube. Make sure the area affected by the ice cubes is well covered with ice cubes.
Step 2. Keep the ice frozen
To prevent the ice from melting too quickly, use a resealable plastic bag, or you can use duct tape to keep the ice from sticking to the gum.
Step 3. Press the ice cubes onto the gum
You can remove the gum from your shoes only when the gum is completely frozen. So make sure you apply the ice cubes well and repeatedly to the part of the shoe where the gum is exposed.
Step 4. Release the gum
Once the gum has frozen, you can use your hands or a knife to remove the gum. Be careful when using a knife to remove the gum as it can damage your shoes or even injure you. So do it slowly and carefully.
Method 3 of 7: Using WD-40. Liquid
Step 1. Spray WD-40 on the gum-affected area of the shoe
You can buy this WD-40 liquid at your local grocery or grocery store. Spray on the part of the shoe affected by the gum and leave it on for a minute.
Step 2. Release the gum
Use a paper towel, cloth, or whatever to wipe the gum off the shoe. If on the first try the gum doesn't come off right away, you can spray again until the gum comes off easily.
Step 3. Clean your shoes
Once all the gum is removed from your shoe, clean the shoe of any remaining gum and liquid using a clean rag.
Method 4 of 7: Using Peanut Butter
Step 1. Spread peanut butter on the gum
Spread about two tablespoons of peanut butter on the gum stuck to your shoe, and let it sit for 10 minutes.
Step 2. Clean the peanut butter
After 10 minutes, use a wire brush to clean the peanut butter and gum. This may be a little difficult but the gum will come off your shoe.
Do not forget to scrub by following the grooves on the sole of the shoe so that the shoes do not get damaged
Step 3. Clean your shoes
Once the gum has been removed, clean your shoes by running them under water and using a sponge to remove any excess gum and peanut butter.
Method 5 of 7: Using Mud and Wooden Sticks
Step 1. Find a wooden stick and dry sand
This method will work best if the gum is not too firm when you step on it.
Step 2. Spread the sand on the gum
Cover all parts of the gum with sand. After that, start prying the gum out with a stick or knife little by little.
Step 3. Continue to coat the shoes with sand
You can see the gum starting to lift little by little. Keep adding sand and keep prying out any remaining gum with a wooden stick.
Keep doing this until the gum is completely gone. This method may take a lot of time and effort, but it will work better than just letting it go
Method 6 of 7: Other Ways to Get Rid of Chewing Gum
Step 1. Using liquid gas lighter
Soak a washcloth in gas lighter fluid, then use it to remove the gum marks that are stuck to the shoes.
Make sure you do it in an open or well-ventilated place. Do not use near fire
Step 2. Use nail polish remover
An acetone-based nail polish remover that can be used to remove gum from your shoes. Soak a washcloth in gas lighter fluid, then use it to remove the gum marks that are stuck to the shoes.
Be careful when using this method as acetone can damage the skin
Method 7 of 7: Using Olive Oil
Step 1. Apply olive oil to the gum stuck to the shoe
Make sure not to touch the leather part of the shoe because it can damage it.
Step 2. Leave it for a few minutes
Step 3. Scrub using a rag
Step 4. Use a knife or other sharp object to remove any gum residue that is still on the shoe
Always dip the appliance in olive oil before using it.
Step 5. Done
Now your shoes are free of the sticky gum.
