Glitch (game system malfunction that can be used to apply certain tricks) Oghma Infinium is an error that often appears in the game Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This glich allows players to get XP points in an instant. You can use the glitch to easily level up the main character without having to explore the entire world of Skyrim. To activate this glitch, you must complete certain quests. Fortunately, this quest was easy to complete.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Getting Oghma Infinium
Step 1. Start the quest “Discerning the Transmundane”
This quest is one of Skyrim's main quests. You can get this quest from a non-playable character or NPC named Septimus Signus. He lives in an ice cave located north of Winterhold.
The easiest way to find Septimus Signus is to do the main Skyrim quest. After talking to Paarthurnax (one of the main dragons in the game), you'll get a chance to talk to Septimus and get this quest
Step 2. Run the quest
Your first task is to collect 5 blood samples of the Orcs, Falmers, Dark Elves, Wood Elves, and High Elves. To draw blood, kill or examine every corpse belonging to these five races.
- If you have activated this quest, a menu will appear on the screen asking if you want to do "Harvest Blood" (taking blood) or "Search" (looking for items stored in corpses). You can do both things on a corpse.
- You can find the inhabitants or corpses of these five peoples all over Skyrim, especially in caves or large fields. Therefore, search carefully.
Step 3. Level up the character to level 15
Although the quest “Discerning the Transmundane” can be started at any level, Septimus will only give you the Oghma Infinium book if the character is level 15 or above. Explore the world of Skyrim and kill some enemies to level up.
If you're playing games or taking blood samples without using a cheat code, your character should be close to level 15
Step 4. Complete the quest
Meet Septimus Signus again and talk to him to give him the blood sample you have collected. After handing over the blood sample, he would walk towards the large circular door and open it.
Step 5. Get Oghma Infinium
After Septimus opens the circle door, follow him downstairs. Inside the room you will see a book tucked away on a stand. The book is Oghma Infinium. Septimus will approach the book first. However, he will explode and turn to ashes when he reads it.
After he dies, take and store the book in your inventory
Part 2 of 2: Activating Glitch Oghma Infinium
Step 1. Find the house that contains the empty bookshelf
Look for houses with empty bookshelves in the Hold (administrative territory headed by a Jarl) or town. Use fast travel to go where you want in an instant. If you can't find an empty bookshelf, find a regular bookshelf and pick up all the books on the shelf. After that, use the shelf.
You don't have to own a house to activate this glitch. However, the best home to activate this glitch is your house in Whiterun
Step 2. Activate the bookshelf
Approach the bookcase and press the button that appears on the screen to activate it. After activating the bookshelf, a menu will appear on the left side of the screen. This menu displays the books stored in the bookshelf and also your inventory.
Step 3. Read the book Oghma Infinium
After the bookcase menu appears on the screen, swipe down from this menu to open the list of books stored in your inventory and select “Oghma Infinium”. Press the " Read " button to read it. Oghma Infinium has three readable sections. Each section adds five points to your six Skills:
- Path of Might - Heavy Armor, One-Handed, Smithing, Two-Handed Weapon Handling, Archery, and Block
- Path of Shadow - Light Armor, Speech, Pickpocket, Alchemy, Sneak, and Lockpicking
- Path of Magic - Destruction, Restoration, Conjuration, Illusion, Alteration, and Enchanting
Step 4. Put the Oghma Infinium back in the bookcase
After reading Oghma Infinium, press the “Store” button to store it in the bookcase. After that, you will see Oghma Infinium stored in the bookcase.
Step 5. Take Oghma Infinium
Without leaving the bookcase menu, press the “Read” button again to read the Oghma Infinium stored in the bookcase once again. However, do not activate these parts of the book.
After opening the book, press the “Take” button to save it back in your inventory
Step 6. Reactivate the bookshelf
Press the “Activate” button again to open the bookcase menu as you did in Step 2.
Step 7. Reread the Oghma Infinium
When the bookcase menu opens, reread the Oghma Infinium and select one of the three sections of the book available. After that, you should get XP points.
Step 8. Repeat the previous steps
You can continue to use the bookcase and read Oghma Infinium until the Skill level reaches the maximum level.
