Want to regrow hair or grow hair faster? One of the most popular ways to do this is through the inversion method. First, rub the oil onto your scalp and then, turn your head so that your head hangs down for a bit. Practitioners argue that increased blood flow to the scalp re-stimulates dormant hair follicles, thereby promoting growth. There is no scientific evidence to prove or disprove the ability of the inversion method to regrow hair or to grow hair faster on a normal scalp. For every success story that touts the magic of this inversion method, there is another story that disproves the claims of the miracle. Doctors tend to explain these untrue results as the result of better hygiene and relaxation, not as the result of magic methods. Anyway, why don't you try it yourself?
Step
Part 1 of 2: Rubbing Oil on the Head
Step 1. Choose an oil
There is no single agreed oil for this inversion method. If you want to use natural ingredients, try olive oil, coconut oil, grapeseed oil, or Moroccan argan oil.
Choose an oil with an aroma that you find soothing. Since the inversion method includes massage, choose a fragrant oil that you find relaxing
Step 2. Warm the oil
Warm about 3-4 tbsp (44-59 ml) of oil. Take a cup of hot water and place a bottle of oil in it. You can take this water from the sink. Let the oil sit for about a minute until it is warm to the touch. The goal is to increase blood flow to the scalp. The warmer oil will increase the blood retention of the scalp cells. The oil should not be too hot. Don't let your scalp burn.
Step 3. Apply the oil to the scalp
If you are experiencing hair loss, make sure that you rub the oil on the problem area first, then continue rubbing the oil all over your scalp. Make sure that you have covered the entire scalp with a thin layer of oil. It doesn't take much oil to coat the scalp completely.
Step 4. Brush the oil all over your hair
If your hair tends to split or break, try spreading the oil all over your hair. Hair splits or breaks when it lacks moisture and nutrients. Natural oils will help replenish the moisture and nutrients needed.
If your hair is curly, brush it gently or avoid this step altogether. Don't let more hair be pulled out in this process
Part 2 of 2: Stimulating Hair Follicles
Step 1. Massage gently
With your fingertips, massage your scalp. Move your fingers in small circles - clockwise and then counterclockwise. Don't be afraid to use your palm, other than your fingers. The palms can apply pressure to a larger area at once.
Focus on problem areas, but don't forget other areas of the head. Do not massage too vigorously or you may pull out the hair or damage the hair follicles accidentally. Massage for 4 minutes and then stop
Step 2. Turn the head
You can do this in the sink or bathtub. Alternatively, you may choose to sit upside down in a chair with your feet on the back of the chair. Whichever way you choose to do it, let your hair hang freely and hold your head at a comfortable angle. The goal is to find a comfortable and relaxed position.
Step 3. Hold this position for 4 minutes
This stage allows the oil to seep further into the scalp and carry blood to the scalp. Take a deep breath. Clear your mind. relax. This stage is similar to meditation.
Step 4. Sit back down
Don't stay in the upside down position for too long. It can lead to unhealthy spikes in blood pressure.
Do not try this inversion method if you have low or high blood pressure, retinal detachment, ear infection, spinal cord injury, heart problems, hernia, or are pregnant. The inversion (upside down) position itself can worsen the condition or cause further injury
Step 5. Leave the oil on the scalp for a longer period
If you have a very dry scalp, this might be the right decision. Some people suggest leaving it on for a few hours or even overnight.
- Take a plastic bag and cover your hair so the oil doesn't get on your clothes, furniture, or bedding. You can use a regular shopping plastic bag or you can buy a plastic wrap that is specifically for hair care. These pouches can be purchased at beauty stores.
- If you decide to leave the oil on your hair for a longer period, be aware that it can make your scalp and hair too oily. This can cause the hair follicles to become clogged instead of growing new hair.
Step 6. Wash your hair
Make sure to rinse off any remaining oil thoroughly. If any part is left behind, it will be much "greasy" than the rest of the head. Make sure you don't use harsh shampoos. Stronger shampoos (with a pH higher than 7) will strip the hair of its natural oils. Shampoos like L'Oreal EverCreme Intense Nourishing or Heads and Shoulders work well. Generally, any shampoo intended for dry scalps has a lower pH balance.
Step 7. Repeat every 3-4 weeks
Depending on your individual condition, this treatment may be helpful if done every 3 weeks. Repeated use at a higher frequency can make hair too oily and may even clog hair follicles, reducing the potential for further hair growth.
