No one likes to clean a toilet or bidet, but this job should not be neglected. Toilets and bidets should be cleaned and sanitized weekly. Instead of buying multiple products, you can use bleach as it can clean and sanitize a variety of items. However, before using bleach on your bidet or bidet, it's a good idea to contact the manufacturer to find out if it's safe to clean the bidet or bidet with bleach.

Method 1 of 3: Brushing and Sanitizing the Inside of the Toilet or Bidet
Step 1. Gather cleaning supplies and prepare a toilet or bidet
To clean a toilet or bidet, you will need bleach, a measuring cup, and a bidet brush. Use a measuring cup to measure out 60 ml of bleach. Before cleaning, flush the toilet or bidet first.
- If the toilet or bidet has rust stains, do not bleach. Instead of removing it, bleach actually makes the rust stain stick even stronger. To remove rust, apply 60 grams of baking soda to the stain and spray it with vinegar. Leave it on for 30 minutes before you flush the toilet or bidet.
- Before using bleach on a bidet, check with the manufacturer to see if it is safe to use as a bidet cleaning product. Some bidets are made of materials that will actually damage if exposed to bleach.
Step 2. Pour the bleach into the toilet or bidet, then brush
Once you have removed the lid and the bidet/bidet holder, carefully pour 60 ml of bleach into the bowl of the bidet or bidet. Immediately wipe off any bleach that is splashed onto the rim of the toilet or floor with a clean rag. Scrub the inside of the toilet or bidet with a bidet brush.
- Brush the bottom lip of the toilet or bidet.
- Gradually, rub the toilet in a spiral motion toward the water hole.
- When you reach the drain/gutter, go in and out of the brush into/out of the drain a few times to clean it.
- Bleach can cause damage or irritation to the eyes, skin, and/or lungs. Take precautions to protect yourself from corrosive materials. Wear gloves and protective eyewear, and work in a well-ventilated area. Immediately wash the affected body parts bleach.
Step 3. Flush the toilet or bidet and clean the brushes
After scrubbing the toilet or bidet, place the brush under the lip of the toilet. Flush the toilet or bidet and allow the brushes to rinse under clean running water. Tap the brush against the lip of the toilet and put the brush back in its holder or holder.
Method 2 of 3: Removing Stains that have accumulated on the Toilet or Bidet
Step 1. Determine the hour/time to clean the toilet or bidet
If you leave it for several hours (or even days) in the toilet bowl or bidet, the bleach can remove stubborn stains that have accumulated. As long as the bleach is still on the bowl, you can't use the toilet or bidet. Therefore, it's a good idea to do this deep cleaning before you leave the house or go to sleep.
- Choose a time when roommates and/or family members will also be leaving the house.
- Tell a roommate or family member that you are going to use bleach and leave it in the toilet bowl.
Step 2. Measure and pour the bleach into the toilet or bidet
Prepare a measuring cup and a bottle of bleach. Use a measuring cup to measure out 60 ml of bleach. Once you have removed the lid and seat of the bidet or bidet, carefully pour the bleach into the bowl of the bidet/bidet.
- Bleach is a corrosive material. This material can damage the eyes, skin and lungs. In addition, bleach is also dangerous/toxic if swallowed.
- When cleaning items using bleach, do the cleaning in a well-ventilated area. In addition, immediately clean the affected body parts bleach.
Step 3. Leave the bleach on the toilet bowl or bidet overnight or throughout the day
Once the bleach has coated the toilet bowl/bidet bowl, put the lid or seat back on and close the bathroom door so children and pets don't touch the bleach. When you get home from work or wake up, check the bathroom and flush the toilet or bidet. Lift the lid so you can see that the toilet or bidet is now clean and free of stains.
If stains are still visible on the toilet or bidet, try this method again. Leave the bleach in the toilet or bidet for a longer period of time
Method 3 of 3: Sanitizing the Outside of the Toilet or Bidet
Step 1. Mix bleach with water to make a cleaning mixture
Diluted bleach can be a very effective sanitizing agent. To produce an effective sanitizing mixture, you need to mix the ingredients carefully. When cleaning the surfaces of bathroom fixtures/items, the proper ratio of bleach to warm water is 4-6 tablespoons of bleach for 4 liters of water. If you want to make a quarter of the mixture, use 1 tablespoons of bleach with 1 quart of warm water.
- Prepare a clean 1 liter spray bottle and remove the nozzle from the bottle.
- Add 1 tablespoons of bleach. Carefully pour the bleach into the bottle.
- Add 1 liter of warm water. Carefully pour the water into the bottle.
- Put the cap/nozzle back on the bottle and shake the mixture.
- Because bleach is volatile, it's important that you make a new sanitizing mixture every time you need to clean the bathroom or toilet.
- When in contact with the eyes, skin, or lungs, bleach can cause damage or irritation. You can protect yourself from these corrosive materials by wearing protective eyewear and gloves, and cleaning in a well-ventilated area. Immediately rinse the affected body part.
- Do not eat/swallow bleach. Keep this product out of reach of children and pets.
Step 2. Wipe the toilet or bidet to remove any residual urine
When it evaporates, the urine leaves ammonium salts. If ammonia interacts with bleach, toxic gases may be formed. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you do not clean the outside of the bidet or bidet with bleach. Instead, clean the outside of the toilet or bidet first with a mild cleaning mixture, then sanitize using a diluted bleach mixture. Wipe the surface of the toilet or bidet with a damp sponge and an all-purpose cleaner. Don't forget to clean these sections:
- Front and back cover
- The top and bottom of the seat
- Closet lips
- pedestal
- Toilet bowl outer wall
- Tank
Step 3. Spray the diluted bleach mixture on the toilet or bidet
Use a spray bottle to coat the entire surface of the toilet or bidet with the diluted bleach mixture. Let the mixture sit for at least a minute. After 60 seconds, you can wipe the surface of the toilet or bidet again with a clean towel.
For more effective or cleaner results, allow the bleach mixture to dry on its own (by aerating it)
Tips
- Wear gloves if you have sensitive skin.
- Use your favorite cleaning spray product to clean the toilet tank, feet/base, and toilet seat. Follow the cleaning instructions on the product packaging/bottle.
- Always open the window or turn on the fan when cleaning the bathroom. You need good ventilation.
Warning
- Always let the toilet or bidet dry after you use any of the cleaning products (eg when you clean the toilet with bleach). While waiting, you can clean the bathroom mirror with your favorite window cleaning product.
- Mixing cleaning products is dangerous, especially if you're mixing ammonia and bleach because it can produce deadly hydrochloric acid.
