Cleaning the toilet is a task that is often procrastinated, but it is very important to keep the toilet clean at all times. A dirty toilet looks disgusting, smells bad and is a breeding ground for bacteria. But as with other less pleasant tasks in life, cleaning your toilet now, right now can avoid headaches later on. Method 1 of 3: Quick Cleaning
Step 1. Take your cleaning tools
If you are disgusted by the idea of cleaning the toilet, you will need to prepare the necessary items beforehand so that the cleaning process can proceed as quickly as possible. Take rubber gloves, the most important tool, as well as the following items if you have them: toilet brush, antibacterial wipes, old toothbrush, cleaning cloth (or tissue paper), and/or toilet cleaning agent.

Method 2 of 3: Thorough cleaning
Step 1. Scrub the toilet with a damp sponge

When you're cleaning the toilet, this water will absorb and loosen dirt and dust making your next cleaning effort easier. Wet a sponge with hot water and rub it around the toilet tank, lid, seat, bottom, and exterior of the toilet bowl. Often, this is enough to remove dirt without the need for special cleaning products.
Step 2. Pour the toilet cleaner into the inside of the toilet
A specially formulated toilet cleaner can help you remove stains, water rings, and minerals that have deposited on your toilet. Spray or pour the cleanser on the inside of the toilet's lip, allowing it to drip down the sides of the bowl and into the water. It's important to pour the cleaner onto the inner side of this bowl – this is an often overlooked area that can lead to a buildup of dirty brown minerals along the inner edges.
Read the instructions on the cleaner you are using. Many cleaners work better if you give them time to soak into the toilet before cleaning. If so, take a break before the next step
Step 3. Scrub the toilet with a toilet brush
Use a hard toilet brush and then scrub the rest of the toilet thoroughly, paying close attention to any mineral stains that may have accumulated along the surface of the water and on the back of the toilet. The more thoroughly (and vigorously) you scrub the toilet, the cleaner it will become.
Make the most of your toilet cleaner - as the cleaner will accumulate in the water at the bottom of the toilet, dip your brush into it a few times to create a lather so that your scrubbing will have a stronger cleaning effect

The flush cleans the latrine as well as the toilet brush. Keep scrubbing while the water is running down the toilet, as the movement of the water may not be enough to rinse off all the dirt.

Step 1. Get rid of items on and around the toilet
Before you start cleaning, clear the toilet of anything that can get in your way of cleaning - tissue boxes, photos, and so on. Since you want to clean the toilet thoroughly, you need to be able to reach every nook and cranny.
