This wikiHow teaches you how to adjust the screen brightness on a Windows 10 computer. You can adjust the screen brightness through the computer settings menu or " Settings ". You can also adjust screen brightness via the battery power tab on the taskbar.

Method 1 of 2: Using Action Center
Step 1. Open Action Center
Click the message icon on the right side of the clock to open the Action Center window.
Step 2. Drag the brightness slider to adjust the screen brightness level
This slider is at the bottom of the screen and is indicated by a sun icon next to it. You can drag it left to decrease brightness, or right to increase brightness.
Method 2 of 2: Using the Windows Setup Menu
Step 1. Click the “Start” menu
The Windows “Start” menu is indicated by the Windows logo on the taskbar. By default, it's on the taskbar, in the lower-left corner of the screen.
Step 2. Click
The “Settings” menu is indicated by a gear icon. You can see it on the left side of the Windows “Start” menu.
Step 3. Click System
This option is the first option in the “Settings” menu. You can see it next to the computer icon.
Step 4. Click Display
This option is the first option on the left sidebar. The settings screen will be displayed afterwards.
Step 5. Drag the slider bar to adjust the screen brightness
The slider bar labeled "Change brightness" is at the top of the screen settings section. Drag the slider bar towards the left to lower the brightness level. Drag to the right to increase the screen brightness.

Tips
- Some computers have special keyboard keys that you can use to adjust the screen brightness.
- On some computers, you can also enable automatic screen brightness adjustment. To enable it, go to the screen brightness segment of the settings menu and check the "Change brightness automatically when lighting changes" box.
- If the slider doesn't change the brightness level, it's possible that your computer doesn't have a suitable display driver. You can check the computer manufacturer's website to download the appropriate display driver.
