This wikiHow teaches you how to clear your browser's cookie cache on Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Internet Explorer. Cookies are data stored in your browser that helps display the content you see, such as advertisements, certain web page text, and information for autofill information.

Method 1 of 9: Chrome (Desktop Version)
Step 1. Open
Google Chrome.
Click or double-click the Chrome browser icon, which looks like a red, yellow, green, and blue ball.
Step 2. Click
It's in the upper-right corner of the browser window. A drop-down menu will appear after that.
Step 3. Select More tools
It's at the bottom of the drop-down menu. A pop-out menu will be displayed once the option is selected.
Step 4. Click Clear browsing data…
It's at the top of the pop-out menu. The browsing data preferences menu will open in a new tab.
Step 5. Make sure the "Cookies and other site data" box is checked
You can uncheck the other boxes on this page if you wish, but the " Cookies and other site data " box should still be checked.
Step 6. Make sure the All time option is selected
In the drop-down box at the top of the window, you can see the time range underlined (eg " the past hour "). If this box doesn't show the "All time" option, click the drop-down menu, then scroll through the list of options and select “ all time " With this option, all browser cookies will be deleted, and not just the most recent cookies.
Step 7. Click Clear data
It's in the lower-right corner of the window. All browser cookies will be deleted after that.
Method 2 of 9: Chrome (Mobile Version)
Step 1. Open
Google Chrome.
Touch the Chrome browser icon which looks like a red, yellow, green, and blue ball.
Step 2. Touch the button
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 3. Touch History
This option is in the drop-down menu.
Step 4. Touch Clear Browsing Data…
It's in the lower-left corner of the screen.
On Android devices, touch the option “ CLEAR BROWSING DATA… ” at the top of the screen.
Step 5. Make sure the "Cookies, Site Data" option is checked
If you don't see a checkmark to the right of this option, touch an option to select it.
On Android devices, this option is labeled "Cookies and site data"
Step 6. Select the deletion time range on the Android device
If you're using Chrome on an Android device, tap the drop-down menu
in the upper right corner of the screen, then select all time ” in the displayed menu.
Step 7. Touch Clear Browsing Data
This option is at the bottom of the list of browsing data.
On the Android device, select “ CLEAR DATA ” in the lower right corner of the screen.
Step 8. Touch Clear Browsing Data when prompted
After that, the cookies will be deleted from Chrome mobile.
On the Android device, select “ CLEAR ' when prompted.

Step 7. Click Everything
This option is in the drop-down menu. With this option, all cookies stored in the browser will be deleted.
Step 8. Check the box " Cookies"
It's in the middle of the pop-up window.
If the " Cookies " box is already checked, skip this step
Step 9. Click Clear Now
It's at the bottom of the pop-up window.
Method 4 of 9: Firefox (iPhone Version)
Step 1. Open Firefox
Tap the Firefox browser icon, which looks like a blue globe surrounded by orange foxes.
Step 2. Touch the button
It's in the lower-right corner of the screen. A pop-up menu will appear after that.
You may need to swipe up or down on this page slightly before the icon appears
Step 3. Touch Settings
This option is in the pop-up menu.
Step 4. Scroll down and tap on Clear Private Data
This option is displayed in the " PRIVACY " section.
Step 5. Touch the white “Cookies” switch
The switch color will turn blue indicating that the browser cookies will be cleared.
If the switch is already blue, skip this step
Step 6. Touch Clear Private Data
It's a button with red text at the bottom of the screen.
Step 7. Touch the OK button when prompted
After that, your mobile Firefox browser cookies will be deleted.
Method 5 of 9: Firefox (Android Version)
Step 1. Open Firefox
Tap the Firefox browser icon, which looks like a blue globe surrounded by orange foxes.

It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear after that.

This option is in the drop-down menu. The browser settings page will open.

If the " Cookies & active logins " box is already checked, skip this step
Step 7. Touch CLEAR DATA
It's at the bottom of the pop-up window. Firefox browser cookies on your Android device will be deleted immediately.
Method 6 of 9: Microsoft Edge
Step 1. Open Microsoft Edge
Click or double-click the Edge browser icon which looks like a white “e” on a blue background or a dark blue “e”.
Step 2. Click
It's in the upper-right corner of the browser window. A drop-down menu will appear once the icon is clicked.
Step 3. Click Settings
It's at the bottom of the pop-out menu.
Step 4. Click Choose what to clear
This option is under the “Clear browsing data” heading, about the bottom half of the “Settings” menu.
Step 5. Make sure the "Cookies and saved website data" box is checked
This box is an option that will clear cookies on the browser. You can uncheck the other boxes on this menu if you wish.
Step 6. Click Clear
This button is below the various types of data displayed. After that, the browser cookies will be deleted.
Method 7 of 9: Internet Explorer
Step 1. Open Internet Explorer
Click or double-click the Internet Explorer icon, which looks like a light blue “e” wrapped in a gold ribbon.
Step 2. Click the settings icon or “Settings”
It's in the upper-right corner of the browser window. Once clicked, a drop-down menu will appear.
Step 3. Click Internet options
It's at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
Step 4. Click Delete…
This option is under the " Browsing history " heading in the middle of the " Internet Options " window.
Step 5. Make sure the "Cookies and website data" box is checked
You can uncheck other boxes on this page, but the "Cookies and website data" box must remain checked in order for you to clear browser cookies.
Step 6. Click Delete
It's at the bottom of the window. Once clicked, Internet Explorer cookies will be deleted.
Step 7. Click the OK button to exit the “Internet Options” window
Now the browser cookies have been cleared successfully.
Method 8 of 9: Safari (Desktop Version)
Step 1. Open Safari
Click or double-click the Safari icon, which looks like a blue compass in the Mac's Dock.
Step 2. Click Safari
It's in the top-left corner of your Mac's screen. A drop-down menu will appear after that.
Step 3. Click Clear History…
It's at the bottom of the drop-down menu. A pop-up window will appear after that.
Step 4. Click the drop-down box
It's at the top of the pop-up window. A drop-down menu will appear after that.
Step 5. Click all history
This option is in the drop-down menu. Once selected, Safari will delete all stored cookies and website data.
Step 6. Click Clear History
All cookies, search history, and website data will be deleted from Safari.
Method 9 of 9: Safari (Mobile Version)
Step 1. Open iPhone settings menu
(“Settings”).
Tap the “Settings” app icon which looks like a gray box with a cog in it.
This process can also be followed on an iPad or iPod Touch
Step 2. Swipe the screen and touch Safari
This option is in the lower third of the “Settings” page.
Step 3. Scroll down and tap Clear History and Website Data
This option is at the bottom of the page.
Step 4. Touch Clear History and Data when prompted
It's at the bottom of the screen. Cookies and other web data will be removed from Safari.
This option also deletes the search history on the iPhone. If you only want to clear cookies, select “ Advanced ” at the bottom of the page, touch “ Data Website ", choose " Remove All Website Data, and touch " Remove Now ”.
Tips
- It's a good idea to clear your cookies after using a public or shared computer.
- You should clear your cookies every few weeks for optimal browser performance.
- Some cookies (eg those stored on your computer by Google Chrome) will not be deleted when you clear cookies via the settings menu. Such cookies are harmless and will not reduce browsing performance.
