Bleaching your hair with bleach will make your hair dry, brittle, and damaged. Use cinnamon instead to lighten your hair color naturally. This home recipe will keep your hair hydrated and smelling good.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Preparation Stage
Step 1. Gather the necessary materials
Check your kitchen cabinets before going and buying the necessary ingredients. Who knows, some of the ingredients you already have there.
- Cinnamon. Cinnamon sticks or powder can be used. Prepare a lot because it takes a few tablespoons for each use.
- Honey. Raw honey has the best properties. However, real honey can also be used.
- conditioner. Any moisturizing conditioner can be used. Conditioner will help your hair's resistance to chemicals.
- Lemon juice. If you like, buy limes and squeeze them at home for the mixture.
- Shower cap. If you don't want to buy a new shower cap, just put on some plastic wrap.
Step 2. Make the mixture
Put the ingredients in a bowl and mix until smooth.
- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup deep conditioner
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- Leave it for half an hour. Honey contains hydrogen peroxide which is activated when mixed with cinnamon. When the mixture is allowed to stand, hydrogen peroxide will form and this is the substance that will lighten your hair.
Step 3. Comb your hair
While waiting for the mixture to finish, comb your hair well.
- Make sure there are no tangles in your hair. This will allow the mixture to spread evenly throughout each of your hair.
- This mixture can be used on clean or dirty hair.
Step 4. Know the desired result first
Brightening hair with cinnamon hydrogen is different from using hydrogen peroxide directly.
- Blonde: strawberry blonde, with some brown highlights.
- Black: light brown, and red (after several uses)
- Red: red highlight, brown color
- Light brown: brighter shadows and reds
- Dark chocolate: brown and bright red
Method 2 of 3: Giving the Cinnamon Mix
Step 1. Moisturize your hair
Your hair needs to be slightly dampened, but not soaked.
- Use a spray bottle. If you don't want to use a shower, use a small spray bottle to moisturize your hair.
- Wet your comb. Run a wet comb through your hair. This way, the cinnamon mixture will stick to every strand of your hair.
Step 2. Test your cinnamon mixture
Before applying the mixture to your hair, make sure you do a hand test. If a reaction occurs on your hands, do not use the mixture.
- If your hands react, it means you are allergic to cinnamon. Rub the cinnamon mixture on your hands and leave it for 5-10 minutes.
- Cinnamon is tingling but not burning. If you have a sensitive scalp, this method is not recommended.
- If your head is burning, rinse your hair immediately!
Step 3. Apply the mixture to the hair
This process will be a bit messy. Try asking someone for help, if possible.
- Rub the mixture into your palms
- Apply the mixture from the roots to the tips of the hair. Make sure to apply a generous amount of the mixture to your hair.
- If the mixture is too thick, add cup of water.
- If you have thick hair, divide it into sections before using the cinnamon mixture.
- Be careful when using the mixture. Keep the mixture away from the neck as it can irritate the skin.
Step 4. Silence
Give the cinnamon mixture time to lighten your hair while you sit and rest.
- Protect your hair. Wear a shower cap or plastic wrap.
- Let the cinnamon mixture work for 2-4 hours. If possible, leave it overnight.
- Spread the towel on the sleeping pillow. Even if you put on a shower cap, the cinnamon mixture can still stain your mattress if you move around in your sleep. Cover the pillow with a towel to prevent this.
Step 5. Clean your hair
Be patient, although honey feels sticky on the hair, cinnamon is the most difficult to remove from hair.
- Rinse your hair. Before washing your hair, rinse your hair well.
- Shampoo your hair. After rinsing hair, apply shampoo to hair and wash thoroughly.
- You may need to shampoo your hair twice to get the cinnamon really clean.
Step 6. Repeat as needed
Unlike bleach, the cinnamon mixture won't drastically change your hair. On the other hand, this mixture will nourish your hair so it can be used over and over again without damaging your hair. Do this until you get the color you want.
- Lightening your hair color with cinnamon with cinnamon is a gradual process. Hair color only changes slightly with each use.
- It will take 3-4 uses before the hair color gets brighter and clearer.
Method 3 of 3: Making Changes
Step 1. Use olive oil instead of conditioner
If you want a completely natural blend, olive oil can be a substitute for conditioner.
- Olive oil is a great moisturizer, but don't use it if you have oily hair. Olive oil will be more difficult to rinse off than conditioner.
- This natural conditioner is great for curly hair. If you have dry, curly hair, olive oil will wet and moisturize your hair.
Step 2. Use cardamom
Cardamom is a peroxide booster. Thus, this material has the power of lightening hair color like cinnamon.
- This spice can be used instead of cinnamon.
- Try this ingredient if you are allergic to cinnamon.
Step 3. Add vitamin C
This is an easy way to add nutrition to your hair. Vitamin C is one of the most effective nutrients that helps hair growth and strengthening.
- Crush two vitamin C tablets and add them to the mixture.
- Vitamin C will help brighten and nourish hair.
Tips
- The blending process will be easier if you divide your hair into 3 sections and work each section twice to make sure nothing is left behind.
- For added brightening benefits, wash your hair with a chamomile shampoo or chamomile tea bag.
- Ask a friend for help to give the mixture on the back of the head. Thus, you can be sure that all parts of the hair have been mixed evenly.
- If you grind cinnamon, make sure it's a fine powder and that there are no flakes left. Otherwise, the cinnamon mixture will not lighten your hair.
- Try stirring the mixture until it looks soft and runny.
- It's best if the cinnamon mixture isn't too thick for a nice highlight or left for at least 5 hours for a brighter hair.
- If you have dark hair, leave the mixture overnight. Hair color will be brighter.
Warning
- If you have blonde hair, it's more likely that your hair will be reddish in color from the cinnamon mixture.
- If the cinnamon mixture burns your head, rinse it off immediately! This is a sign of a skin allergy.
