The best way to retrieve the keys left in the car is with a spare key. Having a spare key is especially important if you often park in a theft-prone area or if the weather is bad. You can also keep your car open with the right tools or if there is a pharmacy near you. You don't need to call a tow truck!

Method 1 of 4: Hangers
Step 1. This method is very simple and can be used for older model cars
This method can be used with the door lock button vertically or horizontally or located near the doorknob. This method cannot be used with luxury cars or new cars, as there are wires inside the door which can be easily damaged.
Step 2. Find the armor hanger
You will need armor hangers for this method.
Step 3. Bend the shape of the hanger so that it is straight and forms a hook at the end
You can also use two coat hangers to pull the door lock mechanism more firmly.
Step 4. Slide the hanger in between the window and the car door rubber
Slide in the hanger behind the rubber covering the bottom of the window pane. Push the hanger through the gap in the corner of the window.
Be careful not to scratch your car
Step 5. Shake the hanger until you find the door mechanism
Shake the hanger against the back of the door, about 20 cm from the end. It will take some time, but keep trying until you get it.
Step 6. Pull to open the door
Pull the door mechanism up once you find the pin. The door will open and you can get into the car to pick up the keys.
Method 2 of 4: Shoelaces
Step 1. This shoelace method can only be used if your car door lock button is pulled up
There is a door lock button sticking out on the inside of the door, some are near the doorknob. Shoelaces can only be used on door lock buttons that are opened by pulling up.
This method is simple, but you will need a little practice
Step 2. Tie a live knot in the center of the shoelace
Make a knot that can be pulled in the middle of the shoelace.

Make a loop in the center of the shoelace by taking one end of the lace and twisting it with the other end. Hold the junction of the two ropes with your left thumb and forefinger.

On the right side of the circle make a bulge with your right hand.

With your right hand insert the bulge into the circle you made earlier.

Hold the loop you made with your left hand so it doesn't close completely, then finish the knot by pulling at both ends.

Step 3. Insert the rope into the door
Starting from the top corner of the door, insert the rope by sliding the rope left and right while pulling down. The rope should be in the car with the knot close to the door lock button.
Step 4. Tie a tight knot around the door lock button
Slide the rope left and right until the knot goes around the door lock button. Tighten the knot on the door lock button by pulling both ends of the rope.
Step 5. Pull up to open the door
Now, with the knot you've made gripping the door lock button, all you have to do is pull it up to unlock it. Your door will open and you can pick up the key.
Method 3 of 4: Blood Pressure Measuring Device
Step 1. This method is a simple method that will not damage your car
An inflatable object can be used to open a variety of different cars and there is no risk of scratching your car.
Step 2. Make sure all your car doors are locked
Many people have tried to open the locked driver's side door and have found the other door unlocked.
Step 3. Slightly open the corner of the door
Grip the upper lip of the door, in the upper right corner. Pull until there is a small gap of about 0.5 cm.
If your fingers are not strong enough to pull the door open with your bare hands, you can assemble a plastic lever. Avoid using metal levers as they can scratch your car's paint. If only metal levers are present, roll them up in a t-shirt or towel to reduce potential damage
Step 4. Insert a blood pressure meter into the gap you made
Push the tool so that it is between the door and the car body. Remove the door when the appliance is installed.
You can replace the blood pressure gauge with any object that slips easily and expands. There are repair shops that sell pumps that are specifically for opening locked car doors. Buy it if you often forget your keys in the car
Step 5. Pump air into the device by pressing on the small rubber balloon
As the appliance expands, the gap in your door will widen. Continue until there is a 1.5 to 2.5 cm gap.
Don't over-pump. Over-pumping can damage your car's doors and windows, even removing them from the hinges
Step 6. Make a device for pressing the door lock button or picking up the key with an extended coat hanger
If you don't have hangers, you can use a stick, twig, or other similar object.
- For most cars, you can use a stick to push the door lock button.
- For older cars, you can form a coat hanger into a hook and pull the door lock button up.
Step 7. Slide a stick or coat hanger into the gap you have made with the blood pressure meter
Use the stick to pull or push the door lock button and unlock your door. You can also pull the door lock button near the doorknob of your car. Adapt to the model of the door lock button.
For some types of cars, it may be easier to fish out the keys you left in the car or press the door lock button on your car remote. It depends on the model of your door lock button
Step 8. Take your keys, and next time don't leave them behind again
Use the tool you created to open the door and retrieve your key. Next time don't forget the keys in the car, or keep a spare key at home for emergencies like this.
Method 4 of 4: Check In Through Baggage
Step 1. Use this method if you have left your keys but your trunk can still be opened
This method is quick and easy if you can open the trunk.
Step 2. Find the emergency rope
Most cars have an emergency rope that is used to access the interior of the car from the trunk. This strap is usually on the ceiling of the trunk or near the trunk door.
Step 3. Pull this rope to open the back seat of the car
Pull this rope to open the back seat to the front. Usually sedan cars have this feature.
Step 4. Enter through the opening
You will now be able to enter via the open back seat. Enter through that opening and take your key.
Step 5. Make a duplicate key
Duplicate keys are the best way to deal with an emergency like this. Keep your emergency keys in your bag or at home so that you always have a spare in case you lose your keys again.
Tips
- The tow truck driver who comes to pick up your car will usually use the blood pressure measurement method.
- Car insurance companies that have on call repair packages usually provide a locked door unlocking service. Contact your insurance if you subscribe to this plan.
- If you often leave your keys in your car by accident, buy a magnetic box that you can stick to your car and keep your spare keys in it.

- Be careful when trying to open newer car doors as there are usually wires that can be damaged.
- If your car has an alarm, these methods can set your car alarm off.
