This wikiHow teaches you how to sign up for a free Netflix trial service. While Netflix generally requires you to pay a subscription fee, the first month of service is free of charge and you can cancel your membership before the end of the month to avoid paying. Keep in mind that you can't legally get a free Netflix account for more than a month. However, you can technically create multiple accounts to enjoy a few months of free service if you have several different payment methods.

Method 1 of 2: Via Desktop Computer
Step 1. Open Netflix
Visit https://www.netflix.com/ through your computer's web browser.
Step 2. Click JOIN FREE FOR A MONTH
It's a red button at the bottom of the page.
If Netflix immediately shows another user's account, use a different browser or sign out of the account by hovering over the profile icon in the upper right corner of the screen and clicking “ Sign Out ”.
Step 3. Click SEE THE PLANS when prompted
It's at the bottom of the page. You will be taken to the package selection options page after that.
Step 4. Choose a service plan
Since you don't have to pay for the service for the first month, it's a good idea to stick with the best plan that allows you to enjoy viewing in HD resolution.
If you plan to pay for the next month's service, you can choose a cheaper plan
Step 5. Scroll the screen and click Continue
It's at the bottom of the page.
Step 6. Click CONTINUE when prompted
After that, you will be taken to the account creation page.
Step 7. Enter your email address and password
Type an active email address into the text field above, then enter the password you want to use for your Netflix account in the text field below.
Step 8. Click CONTINUE
This button is at the bottom of the page.
Step 9. Choose a payment method
You usually get two options on this page: you can use a credit (or debit) card or PayPal if you have an account.
Sometimes, you may also see a gift card option as a payment method
Step 10. Enter payment details
While you won't be paying the first month's service fee, you'll need to enter your payment method information for Netflix if you want to continue your service for the next month. This information includes the cardholder's name, card number, security code, and expiration date.
If you have an account via PayPal, you will need to log in to your account and follow the on-screen prompts to confirm your “purchase” via PayPal
Step 11. Click START MEMBERSHIP
It's at the bottom of the page. Your Netflix account will be created after that. At this point, you can use Netflix as often as you want without paying a fee for next month's service.
Step 12. Cancel membership before billing date
To enjoy a full month of Netflix service without paying an additional monthly fee, you can cancel your membership a few days before the service's renewal date. You need to use a computer to cancel:
- Visit https://www.netflix.com/ and log in to your account.
- Select an account if necessary.
- Hover over the profile icon in the upper right corner of the screen, then click the “ Account ” in the drop-down menu.
- Click " Cancel Membership ” in the top left corner of the page.
- Click " Finish Cancellation ” in the top left corner of the page.
Method 2 of 2: Via Mobile Device
Step 1. Open Netflix
Tap the Netflix app icon, which looks like a red “N” on a black background.
Step 2. Touch JOIN FREE FOR A MONTH
It's a red button at the bottom of the screen.
If you're directly signed into a different account in the Netflix app, tap the “ ☰" and select " Sign Out ” (you may need to swipe the screen first) before logging out of the account, then touch the link “ Sign Up ” on the main page.
Step 3. Touch SEE THE PLANS when prompted
You will be taken to a page with a list of service plans.
Step 4. Choose a service plan
Since you don't have to pay for the service for the first month, it's a good idea to stick with the best plan that allows you to enjoy viewing in HD resolution.

If you are using a card, enter the card number, holder name, expiration date, and security code. For PayPal users, sign in to your account and follow the on-screen prompts to confirm payment.
- On iPhone, enter your Apple ID and Touch ID to confirm your iTunes subscription. At this stage, your membership is already active.
- While you don't have to pay the first month's fees, Netflix does require you to enter a payment method to create an account.
Step 11. Touch START MEMBERSHIP
This option is at the bottom of the screen. Your Netflix membership will start and you can use Netflix for free for one month.
Step 12. Cancel membership before billing date
To enjoy a full month of Netflix service without paying an additional monthly fee, you can cancel your membership a few days before the service renewal date. You need to use a computer to cancel:

Tips
- If you created a PayPal account using a debit card, you can use the card to register for a second free trial through PayPal.
- Sometimes, Netflix uploads remote job openings that you can use to get access to Netflix services for free.
- You can ask a friend to share their Netflix account information with you. Instead, you can pay a small portion of the monthly fee.
Warning
- Trying to get paid services for free is illegal, and Netflix is no exception.
- Sometimes, using a friend's Netflix account is considered a crime. Always make sure you're aware of the latest Netflix terms of use so you don't break the law.
- You cannot use the same payment method on different accounts. Therefore, you will need a different payment method if you create a new account to get a free trial service.
