Unlike other online communities that use their own currency, at Habbo (formerly Habbo Hotel) coins are quite difficult to obtain - the only way to get them is to buy them with real money, or by receiving them from other players. In other words, coins are very valuable in the world of Habbo. Coins can be difficult to collect if you don't pay with real money (especially since many users are always trying to trick you), but with the right strategy, a lot of patience and the right mind, you can get Habbo coins without spending a dime.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Earn Coins Without Paying
Step 1. Complete the available offers and surveys
One powerful way to earn Habbo coins is to complete a number of surveys and company offers on the official Habbo website. To do this, visit the Earn Credits page under the Credits tab on the official Habbo website. Sign in and select an available offer, then follow the prompts to get your credit as directed. Track your credit delivery by using the Support link on the credit offer page. Finally, the new credit will appear in your profile wallet.
- Another opportunity available is the Watch & Earn service. The way it works is simple: you watch an ad, then you'll receive a random gift (rewards are usually cheap furniture, but can also be coins). To access Watch & Earn, click the Watch & Earn button in the upper right corner of the screen (will only appear when video offers are available).
- If you use offers and surveys outside of the official Habbo.com website, be careful to check their validity. Some third-party sites look like they're offering you coins after completing a survey, but they're actually an attempt to cheat you. For your consideration, look at the age of the domain, the status of the URL on security sites like McAfee and Norton, and whether you're being asked to do something malicious like download an executable file. Under no circumstances should you enter your Habbo password outside of the official Habbo login page.
Step 2. Play to earn coins
There are dozens of games that can be played on Habbo, some of which are official Habbo creations, while others are user-generated. Some are just for fun, while others are high risk. The latter can be a source of cash if you are lucky or skilled enough to keep winning, so consider looking for coins by trying this type of game. Here are some games that can sometimes award coins:
- Falling Furni
- Don't Hit My Wall
- Trivia
- Bingo
Step 3. Organize the game
In Habbo, coins are created from both sides of the game. While some games are free to play, some (mainly games created by the Habbo community and third parties) require coins. The following three general pricing options will allow the organizer to receive a profit from the game - usually, the organizer must be paid in coins or furniture (which can be sold or traded with coins):
- P2P (Pay to play): Spectators have to pay to join an ongoing game.
- P2S (Pay to stay): Players who have lost can pay to continue playing.
- Rev (Revenge): Player pays to make another selected player lose.
Step 4. Sell and trade furniture
If you feel you can become a Habbo mogul, start buying low and selling high! Furniture (called furniture by Habbo users) is the cornerstone of the Habbo economy. Buying furniture is even an important reason why Habbo users want coins in the first place. Furnishings are available at every price level, so if you're starting from scratch, you can always sell furniture for a profit. In 2013, more than a million items were traded on the Habbo market, so it never hurts to get into the trade!
The biggest profit comes from seasonal and rare furniture. If there are items that are difficult to obtain or only given for a limited time, they will cost more than the usual. For example, if you take a limited edition item and hold it until it is no longer in production, you could sell it for a very high price, because people who want it have no other way to get it
Step 5. Play grabber
One type of game that is unique in Habbo but has the potential to provide a lot of coins is called a grabber (or sometimes called a rare grabber). Grabber is basically a pure game of chance. In grabber, various prizes are placed in a grid of squares. Players choose two random numbers in the range 1-6 (like rolling two dice) and win prizes in the corresponding squares on the grid. While the prizes are sometimes lucrative, this is not a long term investment as you are completely dependent on luck to win.
- To determine whether a grabber game is profitable or not, look at the average payout of a game like this: Add up all the coins in the grid (if there are furni, use the coin value). Next, divide by the number of grids in the grid. For example, if there are a total of 20 coins in a 6x6 grid, divide by 20/36 = 5/9 = 0.56. This means that on average you will win half a coin. If you have to pay more than half a coin to be able to play, this game is not a smart investment.
- The grid used is not always 6x6 in size. For example, if there are 20 coins arranged in a 3x3 grid, the average payout will be 20/9 = 2.22 coins per square. However, as you roll tossing two numbers in the range 1-6, the nine grids in the 3x3 grid represent only a quarter of the total combination! In other words, you will lose 3/4 times the number of games.
Step 6. Do the work in the game
Your Habbo experience doesn't have to be limited to just interacting, trading and playing games. Believe it or not, some Habbo users even work in the Habbo world. To find a paying job, look for rooms whose ad status is hiring or paying in the navigator (starting with restaurants and cafes). Once you find it, talk to the owner about your destination. Be careful - you may be asked to list your abilities or prove that you are not a beginner!
Note that the pay rate of the job will usually be very low - You're not actually working anyway. However, even if you only get one piece of furniture per week, you can use it to start trading and build wealth. Be creative - whatever you pay, turn it into Habbo coins
Step 7. Follow the available promotions
Sometimes, once-in-a-time events in the world of Habbo offer opportunities to earn in-game money. This event can vary. Some events involve special contests or games, others are events used to improve the Habbo economy after a major Habbo "patch" or modification, and some are diverse. This promotion doesn't last long, so brace yourself as soon as you see it!
One example of a limited time promotion is the seasonal rare furnishing event. Events that often take place during this holiday sometimes sell limited edition furniture. Because of this, rare furniture is expensive, and it may be very profitable if you buy it and hold it until the price soars
Part 2 of 2: Avoiding Scams
Step 1. Never give out your login information
Habbo has a dynamic and active community of more than 5 million unique users per month. Unfortunately, there is still a small percentage of users who like to cheat newcomers to get their coins. This kind of scam can take many forms - the most frontal form is an attempt to steal login information so that fraudsters can take the user's coins and items. Here are some common examples of this tactic:
- Phishing: an email or message from someone claiming to be a Habbo staff member or moderator asking for a username and/or password. Real Habbo staff members and moderators will never request that information.
- Password block scam. These scams are often used to trick new users - scammers pretend that Habbo is automatically censoring user passwords by typing a fake blocked password in the chat window (eg, "Hey, look! Habbo is censoring your password. ******* ** Right?"). If an ignorant user tries this, the password will appear in the uncensored chat window.
Step 2. Watch out for scam casinos
Casino games have been banned on Habbo since August 2014, - random chance games that award furs are no longer allowed, and there is a strict limit of three dice games per room. Prior to this ban, not all casinos on Habbo were equitably operated so gambling was a risky source of income. Since there was a ban, gambling has now become illegal and unofficial. Don't rely on improvised games of chance to make money - the bookie or manager can steal your coins easily, especially if you have to place bets up front.
Step 3. Don't trust anyone else to store your items
Never give anything (especially rare furniture) to someone you don't trust. Once you give something to another player, it belongs to him. No matter what he promises to do to you after receiving your item, nothing can stop him from taking the item and running away. Therefore, never give your item to another player under any circumstances, except for a trusted friend. Here are some examples of the many types of lies that can be used to get you to give up your property:
- Offer to duplicate items (this is not possible)
- Offer to grant moderator status in exchange for your item (moderators are not selected this way)
- Threatening to block your account (real moderators would never make this threat)
Step 4. Avoid so-called coin generators
In terms of getting Habbo coins, if any offer offered something too easy, it would be impossible. For example, a common scam by malicious third-party sites outside of Habbo is to offer to create coins for your account for free. Although this offer sounds attractive, in fact there is not any way to get unlimited free coins. Sites that offer to do this may ask for your login information, force you to complete surveys, even worse before you are given free coins. Either way, you'll never receive the coins you asked for, so don't bother using this service.
Some coin generating sites can appear perfectly legitimate, but this should not be taken as a sign of true legitimacy. For example, some coin generating sites display the names of users who recently generated coins (eg "User12309 just generated 9999 coins.") to lure new users into the trap
Step 5. Report suspicious activity in the game
If you come across a fraud attempt, or worse, if you are a victim of fraud, don't let it go. Report this scammer to a moderator using the Call For Help (CFH) tool. Moderators have administrative power to stop fraud, and if necessary, remove players who are disrupting the community. While this method is not guaranteed, there is an opportunity for you to recover coins or furniture that you have lost.
